A Fan Fiction: A Jealous Rage! Chapter Forty Nine

New York's Troubles!

Chapter Forty Nine

The late afternoon traffic stretched for miles down New York’s 5th Avenue the bright yellow cabs stuck on bumper to bumper.  Sitting in the back seat of a yellow cab Nikhil was busy reading his notes from today’s courtroom’s proceeding trying to figure his head around the adjournment.  He was disappointed the judge ruled in favor of an adjournment giving the prosecuting team more time to rake up evidence. He’d argued with the judge to overturn this decision but the old man was adamant in granting the two month adjournment leaving the prosecuting team smiling like fucking hyenas.  He hated to say it but he just wished the old man could die or better still go on a permanent holiday,  well no such luck for this 70 year fucker was planning on being around for another 170 years to screw up more of his cases. God damn him.

These past two weeks was a ball’s up; work was crazy, in addition he was upset with what happened to Priya.  When he heard the news he was ready to drop everything to be there for Apeksha and her family but she stopped him from coming over to Mumbai saying there was too much public scrutiny around her family and right now she didn’t wanted any media focus on their relationship.   Ok he understood her reasoning but still it sucked knowing he couldn’t be there for her.  To top it all last night his mother invited him over for dinner, off course it was an opportunity for her to start needling him about meeting Apeksha and her family. For god sake mum please don’t even ask me these questions right now, I mean you know how difficult the situation is with all the media attention they facing, the last thing the Kapoor’s need right now is more pressure from us.  Nikhil I didn’t mean it that way off course I care and I’m sorry for what happened to Priya I remember her being such a sweet young girl to know this happened to her off course I’m upset too.  All I’m asking is just some indication of when we would be meeting Apeksha so that I can also start preparing, after all I’ve also got lots to arrange it concerns my son’s life too.  With a sigh Nikhil said please mum, just leave it for now please I beg of you don’t push this.  Padma Advani knew how difficult it was to get any information from her son she had such high hopes for his marriage.  Seeing Nikhil finally married to a nice decent Indian girl was so important for her and she couldn’t wait to meet Apeksha, thank god Nikhil didn’t marry that Stephanie Miller.  Living in the United States for the past twenty years meant living a westernized lifestyle but although they were modern they still held on to their traditional values and would never be modern enough to accept a mixed marriage. Thankfully that part of their lives was over.

The yellow cab finally pulled up outside Nikhil’s apartment block, he got out from the cab paying his fare nodding to the doorman he walked into the building greeting the day security as he made his way to the lift.  On entering his apartment he discarded his jacket pulling off his tie He dumped his bag on the kitchen counter.  Going to the drinks cabinet he carefully took out a crystal glass and poured himself a drink, a bit too early in the day for him but right now he needed to relax his mind.  Walking to the leather couch he looked out beyond the floor to ceiling window admiring the great vastness of Central Park, its luscious green trees so calming to look at, he could stare at this view for hours on end such was its magnitude from high up here. Within the craziness of New York City this was where he ultimately found his peace.  Sitting down on the couch he switched on the TV to a CNN news report, Christian Amanpour graced the screen with her coverage on the uprising in Egypt bringing to the forefront the turmoil that plagued this country over the past two years.  He listened while she interviewed human rights activist who told their stories of the millions of people who wanted to oust the President from office.  Hearing more than enough Nikhil switched the sound of the TV to mute deciding to make a call, there was only one voice that he needed to hear for his troubles of the day to disappear.  He knew it was late the time difference and long distance of his relationship was killing but just hearing a sweet hello from Apeksha would be enough.  Apeksha answered his call from a deep sleep, Hi she said sleepily, hey baby I’m sorry I disturbed you, its ok she said.  I just wanted to check how you doing and if Priya was ok?  hmmm well bhabhi was discharged today I think she’s ok I haven’t seen her yet because she went to stay with her family for a while.  I will probably stop by to see her tomorrow I mean later today she laughed softly.  He smiled and you baby, how you doing?  I’m ok I guess she yawned it’s just so difficult trying to find some normalcy to my routine. I know it must be tough for you but just try and focus on what’s important and leave everything else aside.  She laughed that’s easier said than done, well baby after we get married I will show you how that works.  There was silence for a while Apeksha didn’t speak Nikhil asked her why are you so quiet is something wrong? A few more seconds passed after choosing the right words to speak Apeksha said, Nikhil I’m not sure how to say this to you, what is it he asked worriedly? Closing her eyes trying to calm her over wrought emotions she said well I’ve been thinking about us, and he asked, and I don’t think I’m ready to get married.  Nikhil went quiet then he said off course baby I understand it’s a difficult time for all of you I’ m not asking for anything right now when everything is back to normal and settled down then we’ll concentrate on us and our wedding. Gentle tears were streaming down Apeksha’s face trying to wipe them away was no use because they kept falling, finding the courage to speak she said I mean I don’t want to marry you.

Nikhil was shocked, what he asked unsure that he had heard her correctly? I’m sorry she cried I’m so sorry.  Sitting forward he said what are you trying to say Apeksha?  I don’t want to get married to you, why he asked shattered beyond belief. Trying to speak in between her sobs because I can’t live away from my family not after what we went through and I can never stay away from my bhai he means so much to me.  Nikhil felt his whole world come crashing down on him trying to find some sort of sense he said, baby I don’t understand why you saying all of this, she cried even harder please Nikhil it’s not easy for me I still love you, I love you so much but I can’t move to New York or to Boston not now, not ever.  Nikhil put his hand on his forehead pressing down at the corner of his eyes he said to her, my whole life is here Apeksha my career that I’ve worked so hard to establish, you know it’s only been a few months since I’ve been made a partner in my law firm, it was not easy breaking through the beaurocratic red tape, how do I give this all up Apeksha, how? She cried I’m not asking you to give up anything Nikhil I know how hard you’ve worked for it and you deserve all the success in the world, one day you will meet the perfect person that will be there for you but for now that person is not me. With tears rolling down his eyes he said that perfect person is you Apeksha, it’s only you.  Sniffling could be heard on both sides of the phone.  No Nikhil you deserve somebody so much better than me. How did she have the courage to speak these words she didn’t even know herself, It’s over we are over. What are you saying he asked still trying so hard to comprehend? Forget about me Nikhil, forget about us.

I have a complaint Mrs Kapoor, what she asked him as her finger circled his shirt button finding the space in between to touch through his chest.  He felt every nerve sensation rise within him whispering against her ear, why didn't you return my call? Her tears were drying up she ignored his question and said to him, you smell of smoke she wrinkled up her nose to show her displeasure.  You my baby smell just like my love, he breathed softly into her hair inhaling this woman, his woman completely.

I love you, three simple words that declared what they both felt for each other.  Yes they were broken but nothing that could not be fixed, all they needed was the power of their love and they would get through all of their problems together.  Holding each other tight Priya’s face was pressed against his chest her hands clasped around his back, she finally spoke I think you should go home it’s late. His cheek was resting on her head, home feels empty without you, I hate being in our room alone not being able to touch you, to feel you or hear your voice I miss you baby, I miss you so much. She went quiet letting the last of his words to linger.  Spend the night here she said, picking up her head her hands still around his back she looked into his eyes and said spend the night here with me.  He smiled dropping a kiss on her forehead, ok he said

He turned to activate the alarm on the car taking her Iphone with him, he held her around her waist as they walked into the building.  Would you care to walk up the stairs Mr Kapoor, would you care to be in some serious trouble Mrs Kapoor?  She laughed spoilsport as she pressed for the lift, admiring his wife he said baby I hope you don’t plan to walk around like this when I’m not around, why she asked him questioningly?  Holding her around her neck he whispered in her ear because sweetheart I certainly will not appreciate all the admiring glances directed at you especially in your bra less state.  Priya looked at her chest horrified to see the outline of her nipples sticking out through the satin silk of her top she had walked out of the house not bothering to put on her gown. Oh my god she said, he laughed don’t be horrified baby I’m really enjoying the view, looking at him annoyed she said it’s your fault.  The lift doors opened they walked in he took out his jacket and draped it around her shoulder well I guess that’s my life’s worth everything is my fault.  She was just about to respond with a sassy remark when the lift stopped on the 4th floor and the body guards stationed on this floor were there to receive them, good evening Sir/Mam.  Ram nodded his head good evening is everything in place any problems, no sir none at all.  That’s good Ram said has he led Priya away.

Natasha was in the kitchen getting a drink of water, when Ram and Priya walked into the house, she got such a fright that she almost screamed, oh my god she squealed with delight seeing her brother bhai you, what are you doing here so late?  Are you checking up on me she joked.  Knowing that his sister was going to taunt him endlessly he smiled sweetly as it happens I’m spending the night here.  Oh wow bhai I’m impressed throwing her arms around his neck that’s just awesome.  they say dynamites come in small packages and that’s exactly how one would describe his baby sister, ok Choti you can let go now trying to ease the grip around his neck, Natasha laughed I’m so excited bhai you’ve never spent the night here before, I’m going to wake up mummy ji she’s going to be over the moon.   Priya tried to restrain Natasha in all her excitement no Nutz leave her it’s late, anyway she will see him in the morning.  Ok you right she said, Nutz then asked Ram, bhai what can I get you to drink you must be hungry let me get you something to eat.  No choti relax I’m fine please you go to bed it’s been a long day I’m sure you must be tired.  Ok only if you are sure she asked him again? Off course I’m sure.  Priya  smiled at the protective Natasha and asked her so are you not going to ask me if I need anything?  Nutz looked at her oh my god Priya I’m sorry I forgot about you what can I get you she quickly asked.  Priya laughed calm down I was only joking with you now go to sleep we will be fine.   Ok since you’ll both insist, I’m going to bed good night well actually good morning she smiled again I will see you’ll later and off she went to her room leaving Ram and Priya alone.

Priya took Ram’s jacket off her shoulder draping it on the arm of a chair walking into the direction of the kitchen she went to the stove, switching it on.  What are you doing Ram asked her following her into the kitchen.  I know you haven’t eaten she said so I’m just warming something for you to eat.  Priya no really I’m not hungry, Ram please go wash up the food will be ready in five minutes.  For god sake Priya you just came out of the hospital you not suppose to be doing anything, you need to be resting just stop all of this now.  I’m not disabled Ram I’m perfectly ok anyway I need to move around I’m tired of sitting in bed all these day please just listen to me and go wash up.  Ram grumbled you are so stubborn, I know she said now go, she smiled at his re-treating back.   Heating up the evening’s meal she served it onto a plate and took it to the table just as Ram walked out from the bathroom.  Smiling he walked to the table sitting down while she placed the plate in front of him she turned to leave but he caught her hand pulling her down on his lap.  Ram what are you doing she asked him horrified that he’d dare to make her sit on his lap while in her parent’s house.  With a grin he said you wanted me to eat, right, well then feed me.

Looking at his mischievous grin she said feed yourself and tried to get up, no Mrs Kapoor I’m not eating if you do not feed me.  Knowing she was stuck she finally tore a piece of roti dipped it into some of the curry he opened his mouth as she fed him his meal, hmmmm that taste really nice, he seemed to be enjoying the flavors that he was tasting his mother-in-law was certainly an excellent cook but right now he didn’t know if it was just the food alone or was it because his wife was feeding him that made it all the more delicious to eat.  Once Priya was satisfied that he had enough she asked him what would you like to drink some tea / coffee or do you want something cold to drink?  Ram seemed spoilt for choice and then she asked or how about some   warm cinnamon milk? Ok he said that would be nice.  Priya said to him go into the room I will just clear this out and warm up the milk for you.   Ram said no I’ll do it, getting of his lap she glared at him when I speak why you don’t just listen to what I tell you, go to bed please.  With both hands in the air yes mam I’m going he grumbled under his breath walking off to her bedroom while she walked into the kitchen smiling.

She heated up the milk adding a bit of honey and a stick of cinnamon bringing the milk to a boiling point straining it into a cup she let it cool while she went about tidying up the few dishes that she used, once she was done she switched of the lights and went to her room, Ram was under the covers sitting against the pillows with both their Iphones in his hand, she walked to the side of the bed placing the mug on the night side, thank you baby.  Ignoring him she went to close the room door switching of the main light she walked to her side of the bed and switched on the side lamp, is that bright enough for you she asked him? Yes babe it’s perfect.  She climbed into bed getting underneath the cover, Ram took a sip of his drink hmmmm this is nice drinking some more he offered her some she refused but he insisted she share his mug of cinnamon milk.  Putting his hand around her shoulder he asked her baby so tell me have there been any boys in your room before, why you asking me this?  I just want to know he said she thought for a bit, yes she said, who he asked, does it matter yes it matters.  I’m going to sleep she said sliding down lower on the bed she turned her back to him, good night she said.  Ram put his mug on the bedside table turning to face her back he pulled her against him I believe we were still having a conversation, and she said no you were having a conversation now I’m going to sleep.  This is not fair baby, what she asked?  Why you turning your back to me, Ram it’s late you have to go to work and I need to sleep. Holding her waist he rolled her over onto her back I don’t care about work he lowered his face close to hers I care about you.  She looked at him deeply and said well I care about my sleep. He laughed when we share the same bed baby sleep is the last thing that should be of any importance. Priya pushed his bare arm away from her, well you can forget about anything else but sleep.

On the other side of the world back in New York, Nikhil sat on the highly glazed wooden flooring in his apartment clutching a silver frame photo of Apeksha Kapoor to his chest, He was still in shock that she broke up with him, god he loved her so much he had envisioned so many dreams for their life together.  All it took was one phone call, it’s over she said forget me, forget about us. Right now he sat aimlessly thinking of the moments he spent with her, the first time they kissed, the first time he made love to her. While on MTV Lady Antebellem was playing out

Lying here with you so close to me
It's hard to fight these feelings when it feels so hard to breathe
Caught up in this moment
Caught up in your smile

I've never opened up to anyone
So hard to hold back when I'm holding you in my arms
We don't need to rush this
Let's just take it slow ............

While back in Mumbai at the Sharma Residence a little heat was indeed building up.  With the tip of his forefinger Ram touched the length of her cheek running it down to her neck till he stopped between the valley of her breasts, he whispered to her well then make me sleep. The passionate look in his eyes made Priya go completely weak he knew she could never resist him as hard has she tried to push him away he was always one step ahead of her.  He began to unbutton her silk pajama top she remembered her wound, placing her hand on his no stop she said don’t please, what he asked don’t what.

Don’t touch me she said, baby I’ve seen everything that you got, there’s nothing you can hide from me.  Ignoring her he continued his downward path to free her off her top.  Please Ram don’t do this she cried, I’m not doing anything baby, truly I’m not he slipped her top off leaving her vulnerable, gentle tears slid down the corner of her eye he held her face between his hands looking deep into her eyes he said no matter what, you are the most beautiful woman in the world to me and you are my woman, all mine.  He kissed her lips coaxing her mouth apart while their tongues locked into a union.  She turned to her side wrapping her arms around his neck he pulled her closer into him, through her silk pajama pants she could feel his bare hardened length rubbing against her clitoris while the kissing deepened he pushed himself further into her so that she was overwhelmed by this need.

His hands found their way to her buttocks caressing her, squeezing them tight he rolled himself flat on to his back bringing her over him. I’m so hard for you I want to come inside you and never leave. God baby you make me crazy for you I want to fuck you so much he spoke of his explicit needs while his hand slipped of her bottoms leaving her fully naked like he was.  Making her delirious with all of his toxic passion he slid his tongue on her neck finding a tenderized zone between her neck and shoulder he sucked on her skin, she moaned has his tongue and teeth grazed her skin his hands continued to caress her buttocks. She could feel his rock hard penis lying against the entrance to her vagina, they were on heat ready for the fire to invade moving there lower parts of their bodies they rubbed themselves against each other. I can’t wait any longer baby taking swallowed breaths he said fuck me, I’m dying for you.

Lowering her mouth to the side of his neck she bit into his neck while in one solid stroke he pushed himself deep inside of her.  Ride me baby, ride me he whispered softly.  Their mouths met  while she moved her body sensuously over him giving him the ride of his life. They were so lost in their passion for each other that they didn’t hear the phone ring, the noise growing increasingly loud.  Fuck he swore my phone, who could be calling now at this hour? Priya said to him answer it quickly before someone wakes up. Looking at her he said don’t stop what you doing while he stretched across for his phone.  He answered the call has Priya continued to move on him lightly he touched her breast.  Yes Ram said breathing a bit too heavy into the phone, Ram its Vikram we have a problem.  Barely concentrating on what Vikram was saying, he said what’s wrong Vikram?  Ram we’ve just had a break-in at the office.

What Ram shouted trying to wake up slightly?  Priya stopped moving has she watched the reaction on Ram’s face, yes Ram I’m serious there’s quite a lot of damage computer’s have been ripped apart, filing cabinets have been shuffled around, they even managed to get to the safe but luckily they couldn’t get the combination in, I wouldn’t have called you but I think you need to see this, Ram was shocked ok Vikram I’m on my way.

He disconnected the call Priya looked at him worriedly what’s wrong Ram?  Baby I’ve got to go, he pulled out of her not able to fulfill their needs I’m sorry love I’ve got to go.  He got off the bed rushing across for his clothes, pulling on his pants he called up his head of security to meet him at the office when he was done with his call he buttoned up his shirt, ignorant to the fact that his wife was sitting in the middle of the bed watching him like a frightened little girl.  He sat down on the edge of the bed pulling on his socks not seeing the state that Priya was in.  Ram please tell me what’s wrong, you scaring me Ram? He had just slipped on his shoes when he heard her voice for the first time, turning around he looked at her stunned to see her state never in his life did he ever leave his wife at the throes of passion with his one knee kneeling on the bed he took her into his arms.  It’s ok baby everything is ok there’s nothing to worry about, we just had a break-in at the office so I’m going to see what happened.  No Ram she cried please don’t go, please don’t leave me.  Come on love it’s ok nothing’s going to happen. Clinging onto the side of his neck she squeezed her arms tight around him don’t go please she sobbed. Look baby let me go I promise I’ll be back so soon you wouldn’t even have time to miss me.  He gently unwrapped her hands from his neck be my good girl and go to sleep I promise I’ll make this up to you.  He kissed her forehead the next time when I’m inside you I’ll be there deep in you the whole night.

Priya’s body was shivering with fear nothing he said made any difference to her, she was going into a state of shock.  Sweetheart please my love I need you to listen to me everything is fine nothing is going to happen.  He slipped her pajamas back on Priya talk to me love.  Don’t go she cried, please don’t go.  Ram was beside himself what should he do he couldn’t leave her alone in this state, look baby I’m going to call choti she will be with you until I’m back ok, promise me that you not going to worry.

He picked up his phone and called Natasha who was in a deep sleep of her own.  When she heard her phone ring she mumbled Karthik baby leave me alone I want to sleep, hearing her voice Karthik woke up to the sound of her ringing phone Nutz wake up its your phone, no she cried I want to sleep, Nutz wake up its Ram.  Natasha woke with a fright grabbing the phone from Karthik, Bhai what’s wrong?  Choti I need you please right now,  Ok bhai I’m coming she got of the bed running out of the room Karthik was behind her Nutz what’s going on.  Ignoring him she opened the door to Priya’s room, Bhai Nutz said quickly, Choti I need you to stay with Priya something happened in the office there’s been a break-in, What Nutz shouted horrified?  Please just relax I need you to be here for Priya she is not taking this well just be here until I’m back.

Nutz looked at Priya oh my god going to her she wrapped her arms around her sister-in-law who was sobbing uncontrollably Priya I’m here it’s going to be ok.  Karthik said to Ram I’ll come with you, no Karthik I’m fine Vikram is already there with security I just need you to be here for Priya and see that she’s ok call if you need me.  As Ram was about to leave the room Priya screamed his name, he turned back not having the heart to leave her like this going to her he took her in his arms she grabbed onto him not letting him go, please don’t go she sobbed on his shoulder.   Sudhir and Shipra had woken up from all the noise coming into Priya’s room they were shocked to see her condition, what happened Karthik, Sudhir asked? papa there was a break-in at Kapoor Industries Di is not taking this well.

Choti get me Priya’s medication, yes bhai here it is,  He went through her prescribed medication till he found her sleeping pills,  giving it to Natasha he said get me some water and let’s give her one of these. Ram said to Karthik please call Vikram and explain the situation here his eyes speaking to Karthik to let Vikram know that he’ll be there just now until he got Priya settled down.  Nutz came back with a glass of water, Ram gave Priya the tablet baby you will feel so much better after you take this, giving her the tablet he helped her to drink the water.  Placing her head gently on the pillow he said don’t worry I’m right here I’m not leaving you. She felt so at peace hearing his voice and knowing he was right here with her, they were safe nothing was going to happen to them.  Close your eyes sweetheart she listened to him closing her eyes, he gently caressed her head until she fell into a peaceful sleep.

Fan Fiction: A Jealous Rage! Chapter Forty Eight

Finding myself!

                                                          Chapter Forty Eight
Through my life I trusted you, I had faith, I had belief.  When I had all of this god, how did it all go so wrong? Was my faith not true enough or was my belief in you not strong enough that you had to take my baby away from me.  Why didn't you just leave me to die what was your need to save me?  Why me, why did you do this to me?  Here I am alive and I don’t have the will to live all I feel is this emptiness inside of me there is no emotion or care just a complete void filling up in my heart.

I can never let go of that horrible image the gun against my head hearing horrible obscenities being shouted at me, the words were like a chain saw ripping into my ear piece by piece.  I knew my baby could hear I knew he would be frightened, yes he was my little love kicked me he kicked me for the first time and I felt him, you made me feel him how cruel can you be knowing you were taking him away from me only moments later, yet you still made me feel. Why did you do this to me, do you actually care god what you do, do you? Right now I don’t understand it all, I don’t understand you and I don’t understand your ways you took away the most precious part of me betraying me while the only man that I've ever loved, hurt me the most.
Was I such a bad person that Ram didn’t even let me see my own baby not even for a glance; I can never forgive him for this my heart is just broken, it’s broken forever.  I didn't have the chance to touch my baby, to feel him close to me, to look at his little feet or count his tiny little fingers. How I want to caress my son to touch his nose, his lips, his eyes.  I want to hold him to my bosom and tell him mama loves you baby mama loves you so very much but my beautiful baby boy is no more he's gone from me forever, it’s all over.  I hate you Ram right now you repulse me so much I can’t even bare to look at you.  Each day you come to see me yet I don’t want to see you, I shudder when you to touch me so I am forced to close my eyes pretending to be asleep.  I know when you are here I know the way you watch me and I know the moment when you leave. I suffer my pain in silence because no one can understand what I am going through, not god, not even you Ram.  Its been ten days that I am in hospital it's been the worst ten days of my life.  Today I am suppose to be coming home but I don’t want to go home I just want to sit here on this bed and feel nothing.
In this continued somber mood Priya wrapped her hands around her legs, her chin resting on her knee has she silently thought of her life, waging a battle in her head against god and against Ram. Gentle tears slid down her cheek has she sniffled her nose wiping away her tears knowing it was that time, time for her to get ready, time for her to face the world, a world that she hated.   Like a lost little girl she got of the bed dragging her body to move picking out her change of clothing she went into the bathroom locking herself inside wanting complete privacy.  Removing her gown she undressed herself exposing her semi nude state in front of the mirror, a mirror that never told lies.  She touched her shoulder that was strapped with a dressing to her wound from her chest upwards.  What would the scar look like once the dressing was removed, would there be a life long blemish on her forever would her body ever be the the same again like she use to know it . Lowering her hand to her stomach she wanted to feel something but there was nothing to feel no bulge to touch just a flat smooth stomach that showed no outward signs that she was ever pregnant.

With a deep sigh of regret she went to her vanity bag taking out her hair brush she slowly brushed out the knots twisting her hair up with a clasp.  Carefully she slipped on her loosely fitted clothing feeling the need to cover her ugliness from the world.  Facing the mirror, the mirror that always spoke the truth she turned on the faucet letting the  water run through while rinsing her hands in its gushing water. She cupped the water into her palm splashing its coldness on her face the bite shocking on her skin, who is this stranger looking at me she asked herself, am I Priya Sharma or am I Priya Kapoor or could I be plain Priya with no identity?  For the first time she took notice she had no sindoor on, with her forefinger she touched against the parting in her hair, then she touched her neck for her mangalsutra that was no longer there feeling the emptiness on her finger she felt bereft of everything that spoke of her marital status. Did she really care she asked herself, do I really want to care?  No I don’t because I deserve none of this; I am nothing she spoke out aloud to the mirror, you don’t need to remind me because I already know.

Turning away from the harshness of the mirror she opened the door walking out into her empty room.  Going back onto the bed she sat up straight with her back against the pillows waiting……. waiting ………. the wait, the silence all seemed nerve wrecking so she switched on the television changing the channels without a need to  actually watch so she flippantly threw the remote control on the bed, the channel locked in on a music video by Pink and Nate Ruess the thoughtful lyrics was a rush of emotions that spoke of the insecurities of love, just give me a reason had a story to share.

Right from the start
You were a thief you stole my heart
And I your willing victim
I let you see the parts of me
That weren't all that pretty
And with every touch you fixed them
Now you've been talking in your sleep
Things you never say to me
Tell me that you've had enough
Of our love, our love

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
We're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
The ache in her heart and her reasons for wanting to let go Priya was choked up.  Shut up Pink what do you know, but did these lyrics actually strike a cord that seemed to close to the truth Priya?  I don't want to hear this anymore go away Pink just go away. She took the remote control switching off the television just as the doors to her room opened and in walked the two people that mattered, her parents.  Her papa with just his smiles alone could melt away all of her trouble’s, how's my darling little girl he asked, coming to the bed he dropped a kiss on her fore head while her mother sat on the bed next to her taking her hand in hers, she brought it to her lips Priya I’m so glad that you can finally go home today.

Priya forced a smile between her lips, a smile that had no meaning but was just there while the door to her room opened once again.
Her smile froze she didn’t have the courage to look because she knew it was Ram so she kept her focus to the foot of her bed.  Shipra asked Ram, did the doctor's say that they discharging Priya, can we finally take her away from here? He silently nodded his head his eyes focused on his Priya, she squeezed her mother’s hand for re-assurance unsure of herself she glanced at her papa.

She was like a frightened little girl afraid of the big bad wolf holding her breath she asked, papa please can I come home with you I really miss you papa. In a shocked surprise Sudhir looked at his wife they both glanced at Ram unsure what to say, quickly recovering Sudhir said off course beta why not, off course you can come home it’s your home too you don’t need to ask.  Thank you papa, thank you so much.   If someone had dropped a bomb right next to Ram he would off stood not moving he didn't say a word just gritted his teeth holding down on his back jaw the beat quite evident of his displeasure, such was his hurt or was it anger that he needed to get out desperately for some air so he did the only decent thing he could do and that was to excuse himself so he said, excuse me while I go sign the release forms.

Priya didn't want to come home with him what exactly did that mean, she didn’t even have the guts to look at him, how could you Priya, how could you do this to us?  Every day I come with some hope that you would find it in your heart to see that I am just has broken as you are, I'm sorry that you never got to see our baby I wish I could erase what happened, I wish I could erase away that ugly moment from our life.  You punishing me Priya, you punishing me in the cruelest way possible by shutting me out.

Holding on to his emotions he walked away not even wanting to look back at her, being a possessive husband he knew very well what this moment felt like, it felt like shit.  He hated to let go of her but right now it was a question of her well being.  The doctors had warned him about her fragile state which he was well aware off but he’ll be damned if she ever thinks that she will shut him out and by the looks of things it was quite evident by the days of her endless silence she was on a mission to rule him out of her life.  Think again Mrs Kapoor, think again if I will ever let that happen. This Ram and this Priya will be together forever and that's my god damn promise to you.

Once all the formalities of Priya's discharge had been completed Ram drove them to the Sharma house.  The drive was in silence just the pitter patter of light rain drops could be heard.  Priya’s father sat in the front passenger seat while Priya sat in the back seat next to her mother.  Through his review mirror Ram kept glancing at Priya she had a blank haunted look that didn't seem to matter to her, she stared through the wet window not really noticing just completely lost in her own thought as they drove pass in a cavalcade, an entourage of bodyguards following them.  How do I break this icy wall that she is determined to erect between us without crushing her even further, Ram’s mind was very disturbed thinking so many thought’s. His eyes were focused on the road while his heart beat had its own will beating for its love who sat in the backseat with no  interest or care.  Earlier at the hospital he’d called home to complain to his mother, ma Priya doesn’t want to come home she wants to go to her parent’s house he sounded like a little lost boy who's best friend didn't want to play with him.  The calm and ever serene Krishna Kapoor always knew the right words to say, its ok beta it’s only natural that Priya would want to stay with her parents for a little while.  Don’t be upset my son all she wants is her own parents, after all she's been through a lot she needs to recover so let her be, give the family the space that they need with her after all its their daughter too.  Look at you, you so big yet you can't stay away from your own mother. They both laughed at her heartfelt joke so don’t worry everything will be ok my son and please give Priya our love and tell her we all miss her.  Always listening to his mother’s sound advice, off course there was some truth to her words.

Not even realizing it he’d reached the residential apartment block where Priya’s family lived, he hadn’t even stopped the car when the bodyguards were at the car door opening it for Priya.  From up above and all around curious neighbors stopped to watch the Priya Sharma that they once knew, who was now the famous Priya Kapoor making the news headlines daily.  Seeing her after such a long time was indeed sad  after knowing what she had suffered. Priya was always a breath of fresh air, pleasant and caring all they could do was look at her with sympathy.  Ignorant to her surroundings and covered under umbrellas they made their way into the apartment. At the front door Natasha and Karthik stood inside ready to welcome their most important family member.  Natasha smiled at her in such genuine love for her sister-in-law,  oh Priya I am so glad to see you home, me to Di me too Karthik said with tears in his eyes for his sister.  Priya stepped forward to enter but Natasha stopped her.  Not like that Priya she shook her head and smiled first it’s my duty to welcome you home the traditional way. Priya smiled has Natasha completed the welcome home ritual, now my dear bhabhi you may enter. Priya stepped into a warm brotherly hug welcome home Di Karthik said, welcome home. She smiled there were tears of emotions she touched his cheek I missed you Karthik and what about me Natasha chided, everyone laughed Priya touched her nose you too choti and they both hugged each other. Ram looked on with so much fondness and pride, knowing his choti was here and she would take good care of his Priya.
Shipra said to Priya ok my baby girl now tell me what you want to eat, Priya shook her head nothing ma I’m not hungry.  Shipra scolded her, no you have to eat something Priya. Forced to say just anything Priya said I’m not fussy i'll eat whatever you prepare. Shipra nodded her head and said ok you sit down and I’m going to the kitchen.  Sudhir beckoned to her, come sit down beta Priya looked at her father papa if you don’t mind can I go to my room? He looked at her with concern but off course beta you go rest, she walked off leaving Ram staring at her. Once she was out of sight he took out his phone and called his head of security giving him strict instructions I want two guards stationed on this floor, I want two guards stationed at the entrance of the building and one at the gate also make sure there’s a car and driver waiting here at all times nothing by passes me. Wherever my wife is I want to know about it make sure there is round the clock protection, is that understood, yes sir don’t worry we will ensure Mrs Kapoor gets maximum security we’ll never leave her sight. Ram disconnected the call, excuse me papa he said to Sudhir and walked in the direction of the bedroom.

Sudhir thought to himself what a world his Ram and Priya came from, all of their lives have changed unknowingly the thought of  Priya nearly dying was like a part of his life ended too. He could never imagine life without her, god whatever happens never let me have to bear the loss of one of my children rather take me  away first.  Sudhir was sensitive to his children’s emotion especially his eldest born and right now his heart told him that she was very troubled, all he could do was console her and when she was strong enough he would ensure that he got her to talk. Maybe when she had her strength back he’d encourage her to join him with his yoga mornings. Before she got married it was their morning routine for some exercise and he wanted at least one day where he could spend with his beloved daughter in the morning freshness just simply bonding like they always do.
In her room of her childhood Priya stood in the middle looking around, everything was just the same, nothing had changed. She remembered the last time she was here only just a few weeks back when her father had asked her to spend the night here and how Ram had come to take her home in the middle of the night.  Taking a deep breath she turned around bumping right into the man of her very thoughts, he gripped her has she faltered I’m so sorry she stammered. What are you sorry for he asked her, she shook her head nothing she said trying to get out of his hold but he didn't let her go. What do you want Priya? She stared at his shiny black shoe and said nothing, I want nothing.  Then ask me what I want he urged her, she didn’t speak, ask me he urged her once again. I’m tired she said I want to lie down, he shook his head I don’t believe you Priya I know you’ve been deliberately shutting me out thinking I’m going away but baby let me make myself clear so that you are with no illusion, this idea of you wanting to stay with your parents I’m entertaining it only because of them and if you think for one minute that I’m going to walk away from you, think again Mrs Kapoor because however hard you try I will be right there by your side.  She didn’t want to hear him speak, she didn’t want to her his words twisting her body out of his hold leave me she said, leave me alone. He pulled her even closer putting his hand in his pocket he took out her jewelry I believe you are missing something Mrs Kapoor, with much love he fastened her mangalsutra around her neck she was shocked to feel it back in its place, this belongs here forever he said have no doubt about it. Taking out her ring he slipped it on her finger and never doubt you are always mine.  He took her lips with his kissing her but she refused to kiss him back, he persisted until she couldn’t resist. On her own accord she wrapped her arms around his neck he pulled her closer into him the kiss went on and on.  Coming up for some air he said come home with me baby, come back to our home.  She stiffened her body let me go she said, let me go.  I’ll let you go this time Mrs Kapoor but remember there’s only one place you belong, and that’s with me in our home.

He walked out, leaving Priya breathing heavy you scoundrel, you fiend she said under her breath, how dare you, how dare you touch me she was angry with herself that she had given in to a moment of weakness. She walked out onto the wet balcony the rain had stopped she looked down and there he was walking to his car.  Almost like he knew he was being watched he glanced up directly at her, she tried to look away but was compelled to look at him. For five solid minutes they stood looking at each other with their hearts breaking apart, but she refused to budge. He turned away getting into his car driving off leaving behind the love of his life in the care of her parents as he headed out to Kapoor Industries in a wild savage mood.
When he got to his office, he shut the door with force sitting behind his desk he switched on his computer going through his emails, rummaging on his desk for a file that seemed to be missing.  Jenny he yelled, yes sir she came running, where is the Singhania file he demanded to know? sir it was on your desk well it’s not here now so go find it he shouted, you can never leave things where it should be.  I’m so sorry sir, she quickly looked through the files finding it right where it always was, here it is sir she handed it back to him. He took the file without saying much that will be all he said, yes sir she walked out closing the door has she breathed a sigh of relief.  Hey Jenny what’s with the boss sounds like he's in a foul mood?  Just leave it Atul you know he’s under lots of pressure, yes I know he said shaking his head guess we in for a long day.  Well they were all prepared for their bosses mood swings ultimately Ram Kapoor was the best boss to work for so they didn’t mind when sometimes he flew off the handle because right now they knew he was under lots of personal stress and tension.  Fifteen minutes later Ram yelled for Jenny she came running again.  Where are the minutes from the Dubai conference call?  It’s saved on my computer sir I’ll print it for you right now, did I not ask you to have this done a while ago, I know sir but you weren’t here. listen Jenny whether I was here or not I said to get the damn minutes ready and you should off done exactly that. She stammered I’m sorry sir I’ll get it for you right now, she rushed off to her work station printing the minutes and within seconds she was back, here it is sir I’m really sorry. Putting his hands against his head he massaged the ache in his temple, no Jenny I’m sorry I know I’m in a bad mood and I shouldn’t be shouting at you, she smiled at him it’s ok sir, can I get you something for your headache? He looked at her yes please Jenny that might just help a bit.
Later on that afternoon Ram wanted to speak to Priya but then he realized she didn’t have her phone with her, so he called the house phone. Natasha answered  the call yes bhai are you calling to check up on your favorite choti, she knew that wasn’t the case. He laughed why else would I call? Well let me think maybe there’s a certain somebody else you want to speak too she asked him playfully. Well if you insist he said can I speak to Priya, no bhai you can’t. Why not he asked a bit taken aback, because bhai she’s sleeping.  Oh ok he said did she eat, yes bhai she ate and did she take all her medication, yes bhai I gave her all her medication, I see he said, anything else bhai Natasha asked, no nothing choti thank you he said, what for bhai, thanks for taking care of Priya for me.  Bhai you don’t need to thank me it’s my duty don’t worry really Priya will be ok and when she wakes up I will tell her you called. Feeling a bit calm he said thanks choti byeee he disconnected the call.  He picked up his office phone and buzzed Jenny,  yes sir, Jenny please contact the Apple store and get them to deliver an Iphone 5 to the office, I want it today . Yes I will do that right away sir.
Very late that night Ram left the office not wanting to go home, he drove with no direction in mind but the car had its own direction guiding him along, till he found where he needed to be.  The light in her bedroom was on he could see her outline moving around in her room. Getting out of the car he stood against it watching her while he took out a packet of Marlboro cigarettes from his pocket, leisurely taking out a cigarette from an already opened pack, smoking was a bad habit he’d given up almost five years ago and here he was back to his smokes between his lips, lighting it up and casually tainting the air around him maybe his lungs too but who really cares, hmmmmm that does feel so good, so relaxing why did I ever give this up?  He tried to listen for sounds that shouldn’t be here while his eyes were hooked on that damning room, the doors to the balcony were left opened while the gentle cool breeze blew on the softness of the curtain billowing it in and out. Somewhere from one of the other apartments he could hear music playing. Under his breath he said, come on baby look out, I know you love me look out just this once baby I want to see you, please do this just for me, the smoke twirled in circles patience seemed to be the order of the night.
Priya was in her room changing into her pajamas, it was late but she wasn’t tired because she had an afternoon nap, maybe she’ll find a book to read. She buttoned the last button on her pajamas top remembering she needed to close the balcony door. Amazing how the weather changes, earlier in the day there was rain and now it was all cleared. She walked out into the cool night leaning both her hands against the balcony rail bending her head up looking up into the stars trying to count a few, her hair was opened it lifted slightly away from her face has the gentle cool breeze kissed her neck.  Holding the cigarette midway to his lips did he actually breathe, he couldn’t take his eyes of her god she was naturally beautiful suddenly Priya felt an intensity of being watched she looked down standing against the car was Ram, a cigarette in his hand.  Did time actually stop they stood looking at each other for minutes from the apartment above music played out into the night and all they could hear right now was the lyrics from earlier with Pink and Nate Reuss haunting the recess of her mind while Nate continued singing questioning his lover's state of mind.  Did it actually ring a bell Ram wondered, because really Priya I don't understand why you doing this to us?
I’m sorry I don't understand where all of this is coming from
I thought that we were fine
Oh we had everything
Your head is running wild again
My dear we still have everything
And its all in your mind
Yeah but this is happening
You've been having real bad dreams
Oh oh
You used to lie so close to me
Oh oh
There's nothing more than empty sheets
Between our love, our love, oh our love, our love

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
We're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
I never stopped
You're still written in the scars on my heart
Your not broken just bent and we can learn to love again
Priya found it difficult to believe Ram was smoking again, he had given up smoking way before she had come into his life to see him standing there with a cigarette between his lips was a shock to her system.  What are you doing Ram she asked silently? I don't care what he does she chided herself, I don't care  at all.  There was an annoying voice that seemed to be laughing at her hahahahaha really Priya who are you fooling because the problem is you care to much. Damn you Ram she said, damn you to hell she turned without caring to look shutting the balcony door she went and sat on the edge of the bed to calm down, but her heart rate increased and twisted knots formed at the pit of her stomach. Why am I doing this she asked herself,  what do I care?  Dammit she gripped the sides of the bedcover stamping her bare feet on the floor in annoyance, what is wrong with me why can't I just let him be, he deserves it for ripping my heart apart. As much has she tried stopping herself it didn't stop her from slipping on her shoe and walking out of her room and out of the apartment cursing herself for being so damn weak?

While Ram stood against his car not moving from his spot I know you coming to me baby, I feel it in here he clutched his chest with hope, come on sweetheart I’m waiting for you and like he knew in his heart she walked out into the open wearing her cream satin pajamas each step she took moving towards him, his heart was thumbing playing out like a drumbeat that didn't need a reason to rhyme. She looked like a god damn angel, a really mad angel at that standing in front of him with daggers in her eyes, why are you here she asked? very casually he said I was passing through, It's a bit out of your way to be passing through she said, he shrugged his shoulder pulling on his cigarette blowing out the smoke.

When did you start smoking she asked him? I'm not sure maybe a few days ago I can't exactly pin point when but he knew exactly when, the day that she broke him into pieces the day she found out their baby had died.  She said to him do you know smoking is bad for your health. He laughed, do you care he asked her?  She looked him in the eye no I don’t care I was just giving free advice; oh I see he said well then thank you it’s not needed. Suit yourself she said turning to walk away. Priya he called her name and she stopped what she asked not bothering to turn around.  I have something for you, she  turned around in a huff with her hands folded she glared at his smiling face. I have something for you he said again, bending into the car he took out a package, come here he said.

Not seemingly interested or even excited she slowly walked back to him. He reached his hand out to her, this is for you. What is it she asked, open it he urged her. She opened the package to find the latest Iphone 5 which hadn't even been launched in the Indian stores yet, turning it in her hand she said why are you giving me this? Well you needed a phone, I already have one she said, its broken he told her and then she remembered that damning Friday when she dropped her phone has she was taken hostage.  I don’t want the phone she told him, why he asked her, because I don’t want an Iphone, but I want you to have an Iphone, well I just don’t want too she said adamantly. Well then what do you want he asked her?  I don't know I am not sure sticking with her stubborn attitude. Then keep it till you sure, he said.  Why are you so persistent she asked him, why are you so stubborn he asked? Well I didn’t ask you for a phone, for crying out loud then throw the damn thing away if you don’t want it.
We're collecting dust but our love's enough
You're holding it in
You're pouring a drink
No nothing is as bad as it seems
We'll come clean
Staring at the ground she didn't say a word while he observed her body language that told him a millions times over how fragile she was in her confused stubborn state.  Finally she spoke in a more softened toned to her voice almost unsure of herself she asked him, are you going to quit smoking and he responded back with a question of his own are you going to keep the phone? They both had their reason to question and they both had their reasons to care.  She slowly nodded her head with a slight lop sided smiled he threw the cigarette on the tar and squashed it under his shoe, their answers confirmed.

Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again

Not giving up on this opportunity he asked her simply come home? She shook her head this is my home and once again turned to leave, he caught her hand reeling her to him their eyes burning into each other, he asked her again come home with me? No she said again. A gentle wind picked up has dry wet leaves rustled by.  I love you he said speaking the only thing that mattered and she said to him without a blink I hate you. If you hate me then why are you here? His words seemed to hit a tender spot in her while her eyes was flushed between this love and this so called hate. Let me remind you this is my home, and he said are you asking me to leave? She nodded her head yes I want you to go.  Was it minutes or did it seem like time didn't move a second, ok he said I’ll go but I have a condition. Priya looked at him blankly, what she asked, what's your condition?

Kiss me he said softly. No she whispered I’m not going to kiss you. Not giving up he said then fine I’ll sit here all night. Surprised she said to him don’t be ridiculous Ram go home.  Kiss me he said and I’ll go.  Almost in tears she asked him why are you making this so difficult and he pulled her even closer to him I should be asking you the same question Priya what are you doing to us, why are you making this so difficult baby?  Twisting her hand to get out of his grip let me go Ram, never he said not in this lifetime and not in the next I’ll never let you go. Kiss me he said again, her eyes could slay him alive while his eyes had a purposeful intent, I hate you Ram she said again hoping by a miracle he would just give up and go.

He took his thumb brushing it over her lips hate me all you want Priya but I don't believe you can, his eyes not leaving the perplexity that shrouded her, she couldn't stop these overwhelming emotions running through her body she tried so hard to be uncaring yet their lips were like a magnetic pull, the only thing that made sense right this moment  has she bridged the gap to kiss him. This weak willed woman that kissed her Ram their tongues were desperate for their connection it felt like years since they locked into each other. He held onto her head plunging deeper into her mouth and she tightened her hold on his back.

They were so close she could feel every part of him and he could feel every part of her I love you Priya, baby I love you so much he said. Holding her face between his hands tell me you love me, tell me you love me.  She was confused with a myriad of thoughts no she whispered I don’t. Touching her face I can’t live without you Priya I can’t please he sobbed tell me, I need to hear you say it, please baby tell me you love me.  With tears spilling down her cheeks she closed her eyes unable to bear his desperation, she was unable to hold back what she fought most within her mind, simply she said I love you, I love you so much she fell on his chest crying they hugged each other tight the tears seemed an endless flow.  Was it music to his ears hearing the three words that mattered for the existence of his own lifeline. Sweetheart you are my life don’t ever forget it, she sobbed harder into his chest while he looked up into the heavens thanking his lucky star's still holding her protectively within the embrace of his arms. This car park could surely tell stories of these lovers for it seemed their most favored place to make up and this time her stubborn hurt melted at the sight of a cigarette between his lips and that was all it took to get us to this moment in time.

I have a complaint Mrs Kapoor, what she asked him has her finger circled on his shirt button finding the space in between to touched through his chest.  Feeling every nerve sensation rise within him he whispered against her ear, why didn't you return my call? Her tears were drying up she ignored his question and said to him, you smell of smoke wrinkling up her nose showing her displeasure and you my baby smell just like my love, he breathed softly into her hair inhaling this woman, his woman completely.
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
We're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
