Chapter Fifty Three

Ram was in a fine mood the weekend was good no it was damn good, his baby was back home life was beyond great, this morning could only get better.  For him the best way to kick start his Monday morning was sitting down to breakfast prepared by his wife, looking into the mirror a million smiles faced him as he hummed his favorite tune Bade Ache Lagte Hain by god his singing was horrendous but hey when a billionaire man is happy the whole world can be happy.  Adjusting his collar and tie he ran his fingers through his short hair he winked pointing a finger to the mirror, a damn fine day indeed Mr Kapoor. He walked out of the room with much excitement in his step as he walked down the elegant staircase looking charming. Priya was at the entrance hall her back was facing him, on seeing her he said hey baby I’m hungry bring on the breakfast.  He lightly skipped down the last few stairs she turned to face him with an unsealed manila envelope in her hand, he came to a full stop his smile slowly fading, what’s wrong baby?  Looking at him intently she said this, what is this? His eyes were glued on the print at the top corner of the envelope he swallowed trying to form a suitable explanation but words failed him it got stuck somewhere in his throat.  Her fiery eyes said it all her words shouted at him what is this Ram, I’m talking to you answer me? Ram thought to himself if I could just rewind this day back up those stairs and get stuck under the covers that would be great, it would be even better if I could get a full body massage or maybe hearing something sweet against my ear like Ram baby wake up sweetheart, that could really get me to wake up but damn waking up ain’t fine at all, waking up can be a straightforward bitch like now.  Answer me Ram what where you doing in hospital for two days?

Krishna walked into the room hearing Priya’s raised voice, hospital she said looking at the both of them she asked with concern who was in hospital?  They both turned to look at her Priya flashed the envelope at him trying to provoke him to answer what’s wrong Ram you very quiet why don’t you tell ma what you were doing in a Kolkata hospital for two days.  Krishna was horrified Ram she rushed to him with a sob you were in hospital what where you doing there, she touched his arm feeling his forehead touching his face what happened Beta, what’s wrong she cried hugging him.  No ma just relax please nothing happened he tried to reassure her, Priya asked if nothing happened then what is this she demanded to know.  Just keep quite Priya it wasn’t anything serious it was just a blood test.  His hell cat was certainly on fire, on one-side his mother was clinging on to him crying while his wife was bashing him with questions, she moved like a feline running up the stairs leaving Ram gaping at her. She rushed into her room the bed was in a complete mess compliments of her big fat lion, half the bedding was lying on the floor pillows scattered around she tripped on the sheet cursing trying desperately to find her phone, where is my phone she ranted picking up the bed cover she threw it on the bed while searching the night stand and the drawer annoyed that she couldn’t find her phone.  She did a 360 degree turn around the room and her eye spotted her phone on the table, she rushed to it still holding the report in her hand she picked up her phone and dialed the number on the report. Apollo Hospital good morning a female voice said, good morning I’d like to speak to Dr Nitin Kumar please, yes mam please hold on, after a few seconds the caller came back mam I’m afraid the Doctor is on his ward rounds at the moment but I will transfer this call to his office and the receptionist should be-able to locate him for you, thank you Priya said.  The call was placed on hold and then another female voice picked up good morning Dr Nitin Kumar’s rooms, Priya was just about to speak when her phone was pulled out of her hand, she quickly turned around and came face to face with Ram he disconnected the call.  She reached out for her phone that is my phone give me back my phone she demanded, no he said, they glared at each other.

I want answers Ram, I want answers you’ve been in hospital for two days and I knew nothing about it, how long where you going to hide this from me from all of us, how long she shouted at him.  Look baby it wasn’t like that at all, don’t you baby me she pointed her finger at him just tell me what happened?  Well if you stop shouting and let me speak maybe you can get an answer.  Raising her eyebrows at him she folded her arms ok speak she said I’m listening.  Little bead drops of perspiration formed on his forehead as he took her through an edited version of the night that he fell sick, so basically I just had a bit of a pain pointing to his throat that’s all it was so I went to hospital just to make sure everything was ok, the doctor then suggested that while I was there he should run some blood tests which was a normal routine check that’s why he kept me there for two days.  Priya said so it was just a slight pain and you went to hospital for a routine check-up, is that correct she asked? Yes off course he said that’s what happened.  She swatted his arm with the report don’t you lie don’t you dare lie to me because this report describes your condition from the time you were seen to by the paramedics, you couldn’t breathe Ram you were unconscious she cried, how could you keep such an important thing from me?  Brushing her tears she choked have I been such a bad wife that you couldn’t even tell me that you were sick and in hospital.   

He felt so bad that she was crying baby please don’t say this, you are truly the best wife I could ever have imagine.  Yet you lied to me she cried, she tried to remember that night and said I felt something was wrong I tried to call you and I couldn’t reach you, you lied when you said it was network problems because  you were in hospital. Sweetheart listen to me I was going to tell you I just didn’t have time to talk about it, she looked at him time you had all the time in the world this weekend Ram to tell me, he looked down on the floor it didn’t seem like the right time, right time she shouted right time, there is no right time for a husband to tell his wife that he was sick and in hospital.  I know he said almost to himself, what do you know, she demanded?  Do you know how I feel right now I feel like the worst wife under the sun she cried, I wasn’t there for you Ram I had to learn about you being in hospital from a report she hiccupped.  Ram was feeling even worse he hated it when she cried and all because of him too, he moved to take her in her arms and comfort her, don’t touch me she yelled, don’t you touch me she glared at him.  Ok he said calm down Priya just calm down with his hands up in the air I’m not touching you ok we can discuss this and you will see for yourself it was not serious at all.  She looked at him with hurt don’t you get it Ram, he shook his head confused don’t I get what he asked. You she cried I’m tired of you shielding me from everything I’m tired of it she said.  Ram didn’t know what to say I’m really sorry baby I didn’t mean to hurt you like this it wasn’t my intention at all in-fact Vikram said that I should, she didn’t even let him complete his sentence Vikram said she shouted you mean Vikam knew that you were in hospital.  Unable to deny it he nodded his head and said yes he came to Kolkata when he came to know he gazed at the floor afraid to look into her eyes.  She was so hurt and mad at him I am your wife Ram you suppose to tell me everything I’m the one that should have been told yet Vikram knew and I didn’t. It wasn’t like that Priya, then what was it like she shouted, Vikram knows and I didn’t she couldn’t believe what she was hearing.  Ram knew every time he tried to say something he would get himself into deeper trouble so he said look baby really there is nothing to worry about it, it was a simple allergy, these test confirm it so let’s just forget all of this I’m absolutely fine I didn’t want to worry you unnecessarily that’s why I didn’t tell you or anyone in the family, except Vikram she reminded him. Ram kept quiet he tried to change the topic by saying I’m hungry to eat your food baby so can we please just go have our breakfast?  She looked at him without care why ask me if you can have breakfast why don’t you go ask Vikram this question. His jaw dropped as he gaped at her she turned her attention to the floor as she picked up the pillows then dusted the sheet while Ram stood there looking at her unsure what to say next. Eventually he thought he’d better make a fast exit out of here, otherwise he was in for more bashing, he retreated out of the room going downstairs rather glum looking, Bansi said sir are you ready for breakfast, Ram shook his head no Bansi kaka don’t worry I’ll get something at the office but sir not hearing the humble servant he walked out of the house, while Bansi stood thinking now what could be wrong?

A little while later Priya came downstairs she walked towards the dining room seeing that the table was  laid out but the room was empty she went into the kitchen, Bansi kaka where is Mr Kapoor, mam he left for the office, oh Priya said did he eat, he shook his head no mam he didn’t eat.  Priya felt bad that he hadn’t eaten yes she was upset with him but she couldn’t leave him hungry, so she packed his food to send it to the office handing the food basket to the driver she gave him strict instructions to get this to Mr Kapoor quickly.  At the office Ram said to his personal assistant, Jenny please order me something to eat, yes sure sir do you want anything in particular? No just get me whatever is quick and easy, ok sir I will do that right away.  He walked into his temporary office they were currently renovating the executive top floor so he was sitting here until his very own office was completed. He switched on his laptop going through emails.  Half an hour later he was about to buzz Jenny when she walked in pushing a food trolley.  He looked at her surprised what is all of this he asked, she said sir Mrs Kapoor sent this for you, he smiled did she, Jenny said yes sir she did, Ram thought so Priya was calming down that was a good sign.  He ate with much happiness feeling completely satisfied he called for the food to be cleared away then he decided to call his wife to thank her for the food she sent but there was no answer on her phone, every time she doesn’t pick up his call it drives him crazy he mumbled under his breath while he called the house phone only to be told that Mrs Kapoor was busy, he asked the servant what is Mrs Kapoor busy doing?  I’m not sure sir she just said to tell you that she was busy.  Ram thought so much for that thought, ok he said tell her that I called he put the phone down disheartened that she would not speak to him.

Vikram walked into his office hey Ram how you doing buddy? I wish I could say great but at the moment I’m just ok.  Vikram looked at him with concern why what’s wrong.   Ram said my day got screwed when my wife received my hospital reports, I had no clue it was being delivered this morning so all hell broke loose when she came to know now she is furious at me he said here I thought at least I would get some sympathy from her like baby I’m so sorry you were in hospital come let me make you feel better, but no she blasted me left right and centre for not telling her.  Vikram burst out laughing, stop laughing you fucker she is pissed off and you laughing at me.  Vikram said well serves you right for not telling her anyway I told you to tell her but you never listen so suffer the consequences now.  You know Vikram you such a lousy friend, Vikram said well sometimes if you listen then you won’t land yourself into problems. Just shut the fuck up Vikram really I’m in no mood for your sermons today, anyway don’t think you so smart because Priya is pissed off at you too.  Me Vikram spluttered what have I done he asked, Ram laughed she’s mad at you because you knew and she didn’t.  Vikram’s jaw dropped his eyes widened come on Ram what kind of a friend are you, you screwed this up yourself now you want to take me down with you this is not fair Ram while Ram laughed at his friends uneasiness he tormented him even further, wait till Priya gets stuck into you Vikram so I’m just doing the friendly thing by warning you. Ram just shut up ok just stop all this nonsense you messing with me. Ram was enjoying this heartily and then he said ok tell me what’s happening with our Bremen talks, Vikram sat comfortably back in his chair and said we setup for 1730 today, are you joining us he asked?  Ram nodded his head yes I’ll be there.  Ok good but knowing how hard headed these Germans can be I’m sure we in for a long night so let’s take them out to dinner after we’ve ironed out the main points here we’ll continue the discussions over drinks and dinner. Ram said ok that sounds like a good plan get Jenny to sort things out and I will meet you back in your office in about two hours we can go through the budget.  Vikram got up to leave and said ok I will see you later, he was just about to exit the door when he turned back and said oh I forgot to mention I asked Kiran to join us for dinner. Ram looked at Vikram with a curious expression why he asked, Vikram said because maybe these Germans will soften by a pretty lady at our table, Ram laughed Vikram you such a bastard, Vikram said thanks I know but that’s because I learnt from the best.

Back at the mansion Priya was spending her day on her laptop researching everything about Ram’s allergy, he tried to call her earlier but she was ignoring him because she was not ready to forgive him he really hurt her feelings by not telling her that he was sick.   She managed to get in touch with the Doctor in Kolkata he was most helpful once she managed to convince him that she was really Mrs Kapoor after her conversation with him she felt relieved that she could ask her questions and get the answers that she needed.  Now here she was on a medical website reading up more on the different types of allergies the causes, symptoms and its relief she was so caught up in her reading that the alert sound on her phone gave her a jolt, taking the phone of the table she saw an incoming message from Ram which read "I have a dinner meeting so I will be home late".  So that was that she thought can’t he at least try calling me again.

Late that night she was in her room sitting up in bed reading her book the room lights were dimmed with just her reading lamp on.  Ram walked into the room they both looked at each other at the same time, she quickly looked away ignoring him.  He shook his head going into the dressing room a little while later he came out wearing his white Kurta with a towel in his hand wiping at the corner of his neck.  He didn’t speak to her as he went to place the towel on the back of a chair he walked to his side of the bed only to find that his pillows were missing.   With her eyes trained on her book she said it’s on the couch, he looked at her confused why he asked and she said because that’s where you will be sleeping tonight. What he looked flabbergasted me on the couch why he asked, she looked at him and said because it’s either you or me on that couch so you decide, what the hell Priya what nonsense is this.  Ok fine she said you keep the bed and I will sleep on the couch she made to get up. Ram very quickly said you will do no such thing while he gritted his teeth in annoyance she smiled sweetly at him ok then in that case you can sleep on the couch good night she put her book down switching of the light she turned to her side and closed her eyes. 

Ram looked at her like what the hell she was making him sleep on the couch, damn it, it was a long day all he wanted was his bed and hopefully his wife peacefully now even that won’t be happening, grumbling to himself he went to the couch taking the pillow he placed it in position as he took the cover to throw it over himself while Priya kept her eyes slightly open to spy on him, good let him suffer she thought it serves you right for hiding things from me. She turned on her back closing her eyes while he turned facing her looking at how peacefully she was sleeping,  here he was stuck on this god forsaken couch he thumped the pillow and turned facing the wall under his breath he said I wish some people knew the meaning of the word compassion he grumbled.  Smiling to herself she pretended that nothing affected her while he continued to toss and turn, finally he lay on his back looking up at the ceiling and hoping that he could sleep. Unable to resist he gave her one final look through the corner of his eye she was fast asleep and he will be counting sheep through the fucking night.  He closed his eyes and Priya opened hers turning to her side with her hands tucked underneath her cheek she faced him observing him silently for a while.  She loved him so much it hurt that she wasn’t there for him when he was sick. She knew how much he did for her when she was in hospital and not being able to love and care for him like he deserved to be made her really sad. She got off the bed and walked silently to him as she stood watching over him while he slept, moving the cover aside she climbed in curling up on him, her head was resting on his chest while her hands held him around his chest.  His eyes flew open, Priyaaaaaa he said, shusshhhhhh she said go to sleep she tightened her hands around him.  

He smiled as his hands found his way along her back and down to her buttocks she was wearing a short nightdress that ended just above her knee making it easy for him to slide his hands, he caressed her buttocks squeezing her butt cheeks tight she moaned. Lifting her head they looked at each other deeply she kissed him pressing her lower body into his with all the movement and caressing her nightdress bunched up around her midriff, he took it off leaving her naked while at the same time he slipped her panty down hmmmmmm this was much better. I’m sorry that you were in hospital, there she finally said it his heart melted even more and I’m sorry that I stayed away from you for so long and one more thing I’m sorry for making you sleep on the couch.   Ram smiled to himself he asked her are you not sorry for anything else, she picked up her head looking at him confused what else is there she asked?  He said how about the fact that you once again did not answer your phone and didn’t want to take my call she bit her lower lip smiling naughtily that’s because I was upset with you she said. He touched her cheek and asked her but why do you fight with me so much?  She grinned putting her head back on his chest she said that’s because I can. You minx he laughed sliding his hand down her back, he said thank you for the food that you sent for me it was delicious, closing her eyes she said you welcome.  Baby i’m not sorry that I’m sleeping on the couch, she asked really, yes really he said  because you sleeping with me on it, they both chuckled. How was your dinner she asked him, hmmmmm so so he said. Ram you know you not allowed to eat any form of shellfish again, yes I know and you know your doctor said, wait a minute my doctor he asked you spoke to my doctor? off course she mouthed on his chest I phoned the doctor because you keep things away from me and I don’t like it, he laughed. 

Ram, hmmmmm, I’m tired, why he asked stroking her hair, because you made me wait up so long for you but baby I told you I’d be late, but you could have at least tried to come home a bit early. He grinned you know baby you didn’t even want to look at me and now you say you wanted me to come home early.  She laughed and who said I wasn’t looking, he chuckled you Mrs Kapoor are such a big tease and you love it Mr Kapoor, he chuckled yes that I do. In here the walls of the green room thought there’s never enough of entertainment from the two whether she’s mad at him or him mad at her, whether they making love or cuddling or playing with each other, the passion in this room was non-stop entertainment.

A few days later after one of their many nights of tender petting, Ram said let’s do something tomorrow? What she asked, let’s spend the day together what about work she asked?  Sweetheart I’m the boss right, she grinned well you never let me forget, he laughed. Looking at her lying in his arms he said so do we have a date Mrs Kapoor, I guess we do Mr Kapoor.  The next day they left home around mid morning casually dressed both wearing jeans she in a bright cerise tunic top with gold beaded trim along the neck line and along the edge of her sleeve.  On her feet she wore a multi colored Jutti with gold and pearl beads on it while he was wearing a striped polo skipper shirt in light yellow and blue, while on his feet he was wearing tan loafers they both looked chic and comfortable.  He drove off in his white BMW SUV, what are we doing today she asked? He turned to look at her whatever you want to do my love?  He was just glad that she was getting out slowly losing her fear of being on the outside and around people, this was a big concern for him but thank god he was seeing lots of improvement. His phone rang interrupting his thoughts he answered on speaker. Jenny said sir I’m sorry to disturb you but we have some important documents that need your signature, can’t it wait until tomorrow he asked, actually no sir these tender documents have a deadline the submission is for today, ok he said I’ll be there in a few minutes. He disconnected the call and said baby I’m really sorry about this I hope you don’t mind we have to make a quick stop at the office, she smiled no I don’t but, but what he asked, biting on her bottom lip she said you have to make it up to me, he laughed what do you want he asked? She thought for a bit and then said I want you to cook for me, he laughed you want me to cook for you. She said why Mr Kapoor if I cook for you why can’t you cook for me but baby I’ve never cooked in my life. She grinned well that’s all the more reason for you to try. Taking her hand he brought it to his lips kissing it he dropped it on his lap, well how about I hire you your own cook thanks she said we have more than enough cooks at home I don’t need any more. Ram couldn’t help staring ahead at the road with a broad smile on his face.

They parked outside in front of Kapoor industries it was a quick stop so he didn’t bother to take it to his parking bay, two security guards rushed forward to open the door.  Ram and Priya walked into the grand foyer of Kapoor Industries it was a plush to look at with the corporate folks passing through either walking in, walking out but they couldn’t help a glance at Ram Kapoor so casually dressed wearing shaded sunglasses his wife next to him now that was indeed a pleasant sight to see.  A few minutes later coming out of the lift taking out his sunglasses he led her out onto the executive top floor Priya was warmly received by many and that was really special. He didn’t let go of her hand as they walked along the passage, are you ok baby he asked, she looked at him and smiled.  Vikram popped out of his office hey Ram I’m glad you here we need and then he stopped when he spotted Priya, he smiled hey Priya I’m so glad to see you here.  Priya said hi Vikram but you know you can wipe that smile of your face,  oh god here it was so he quickly said no Priya blame him pointing to Ram it was his fault I didn’t do anything. I’m not talking about Ram I’m talking about you Vikram.  Vikram glared at Ram who was leaning against a wall grinning at his friend he showed him his fist I’m going to kill you for this, Ram laughed bring it on bro.  Vikram said to Priya you know this Ram right he is so stubborn and totally impossible. Ram looked at his friend glaring at him, Vikram smiled bad mouthing him even more and he’s such a big fool too.  Priya hid her amusement I know all of this Vikram but I expected you to have more sense than him? Vikram’s phone rang saving him he looked at the number and said to Priya so sorry Priya please excuse me this is an urgent call I need to take it, he walked off quickly leaving Priya facing an amused Ram. So Mrs Kapoor you think I’m a fool he asked softly she whispered yes she said you but you are my fool. He laughed closing in on her, some employees were walking down the passage so he stopped but whispered I will teach you your lesson Mrs Kapoor and she laughed I’m looking forward to it. You minx he said as he led her down the passage towards Jenny.

Jenny saw the both of them with the brightest of smiles for Priya she said oh mam what a lovely surprise this is, it’s so good to see you here.  Ram said Jenny you just interrupted my date with my wife, Priya blushed while Jenny smiled I’m so sorry sir, he said now please take care of my wife while I go sign those documents, off course sir I certainly will do. Ram said to Priya baby I’ll see you just now he winked at her and she blushed even more while he walked away smiling.  Jenny was amused at her boss and Priya was embarrassed.  Jenny said to Priya, mam let’s go to my office and I will order you something to drink what would you like to drink she asked?  Priya said some chai would be nice, sure mam no problem at all.  In her office Priya sat across Jenny’s desk while Jenny went behind hers she picked up the phone and ordered for the chai.  Priya placed her clutch bag on the desk sitting a bit more comfortably she asked, Jenny so how are your wedding preparations coming along?  This question brought a smile to Jenny’s face actually mam there’s so much to do I can’t believe it’s almost two months away but I’m so excited I can’t wait for my big day.  Priya smiled well I’m sure it will be a beautiful day and you will make an even beautiful bride. Jenny blushed thank you mam that’s so sweet of you, mam I really hope that you will be there for my wedding, Priya said off course we’ll be there and knowing your Mr Kapoor he will never forget.  Jenny said thank you mam that really means so much to me.  Priya smiled actually Jenny it is I that should thank you for putting up with Mr Kapoor, they both laughed.

A bit more serious Jenny said mam I want to say how sorry I was for what happened to you, we all prayed for you even my family and at our church we held a special service for you.  Priya was touched listening to this there was a slight moistness in her eye that was very kind of you Jenny ,please pass my love and thanks to your family and also to your church I’m really touched by this.   They were interrupted by the office peon who brought chai for Priya. She let her eyes wonder around noticing the changes that were taking place she said I didn’t realize that the office was being re-decorated, oh yes mam after the break in here Mr Kapoor wanted the entire executive floor to be re-vamped so that is what we doing right now, in-fact Mr Kapoor is working out of a smaller office while his own office is being re-designed. Oh Priya said, Jenny looked at her but I thought you knew this mam, Priya smiled no I didn’t.  A female voice down the passage seemed to filter in to Jenny’s office, well that’s just fantastic news Shweta I loved that painting at Sotheby's I know it will work like a dream in Ram’s office. She laughed in-fact he’ll be so impressed by it and you know I’ll do anything to keep him happy, she laughed yes darling whatever it takes just get it down here within the week. She walked down the passage continuing her conversation on the phone, Priya observed her through the glass partition the way her hips moved in confidence wearing a navy blue fitted pants that showed off her long legs teamed up with a cream silk shirt that was neatly tucked into her pants, her thin waist was accentuated by a designer belt in cream and gold, she wore cream stilettos that gave her even more of a height, her hair was severely pulled back into a ponytail with her entire demure screaming hot shot business woman.  Priya was very curios especially after hearing that conversation she asked Jenny who is that? Jenny rolled her eyes giving her the impression that she didn’t like her very much; Jenny said that’s Kiran Trivedi mam. 

 Priya raised her eyebrow in question for her to go on, Jenny said she is the owner of the interior company that Mr Kapoor hired to re-design the office so she is personally overseeing the work because that’s what Mr Kapoor wanted. Oh Priya said so does that mean she is here every day, Jenny said almost daily mam in-fact I can’t wait for her to leave, why is that Priya asked? Jenny innocently said because she is rude an opinionated and she always wants to be wherever Mr Kapoor is, Priya was startled by this revelation.  Jenny was interrupted by a phone call she lifted the receiver and said to the caller ok I’ll be there putting the phone down she said mam I’m so sorry I’ve got to go, Priya smiled don’t worry about me Jenny you go ahead in-fact I think I’ll go down and sit in the foyer.  Jenny said but mam you can wait here or why don’t you wait in Mr Kapoor’s office, Priya smiled no Jenny I’m perfectly ok I think I will wait downstairs in the foyer you can let Mr Kapoor know. Jenny nodded her head yes mam I will certainly do that but let me accompany you downstairs.  Priya refused no Jenny you go ahead and get what you need to do I will be ok, Jenny smiled ok mam it was such a pleasure to see you again and I’m sorry that I interrupted your date with Mr Kapoor, Priya smiled don’t worry Jenny Mr Kapoor will be making it up to me and they both laughed. Jenny said well you have a lovely day and hope you stop by the office again.  Priya smiled we’ll see and you take care ok and all the best with your wedding plans, thank you mam. 

Priya picked up her bag and walked down the passage to the bank of lifts, the door opened and she got in while a female voice shouted can you hold the lift for me, the lift doors where closing and Kiran rushed in squeezing her thin body through.  She looked at Priya in annoyance did you not hear me I said to hold the lift, Priya said it was a bit too late for that.  Kiran looked at Priya from head to toe with a snobbish snigger and Priya was equally not impressed. There was silence all the way down from the 28th floor when the lift reached the ground level the doors opened and Kiran walked out with her phone stuck to her ear while Priya walked to the beautiful reception area of the foyer, she sat down gracefully as she took a magazine off the coffee table flipping through the magazine but her mind could not get over the  arrogance of Kiran Trivedi and especially hearing her say that she will do anything to keep Ram happy. 

While up on the top floor Ram asked Jenny where is my wife? Sir she is waiting for you downstairs in the reception area, Ram asked her but why did you let her go down?  Sir I  suggested for her to wait up here but she wanted to wait in the reception area. Ram said ok I’m leaving now so please Jenny no disturbance ok, yes sir she said I won’t disturb you. Ram walked to the lift eager to go down to his wife he had reached the ground floor the doors opened and he walked out within seconds he spotted Priya sitting very beautifully reading a magazine.  He smiled as he walked towards her but he didn’t expect a female body to come crashing on him, he held her steady as Kiran said, oops Ram darling she laughed, you are my knight in shining armour.  He laughed well I’m glad you didn’t end up crashing on the floor, she clutched his shoulder well lucky me here you are to save me.  He straightened up while Kiran said Ram I’m so glad I bumped into you in-fact I’ve got fantastic news we’ve got the painting you were after. Really that’s just great and she said I also wanted to thank you so much for inviting me to dinner the other night I had a wonderful time, that’s good he said.  Ram was eager to get away so he said Kiran I really have to go now so we’ll catch up later ok you take care he said and walked towards his wife.

 Priya was sitting on the white leather couch reading an article when she caught the voice of Kiran Trivedi she looked up only to find her holding  on to Ram. Priya’s eyes brightened in anger with every second passing her hands gripped the magazine tightly as she silently seethed in rage.  He came to her smiling and said baby I’m so sorry he offered her his hand but his phone rang at the same time yes he answered the call continuing to speak while still sticking his hand out for Priya. Through the corner of her eye she watched Kiran standing there looking at them in shock so Priya very deliberately smiled at her and took Ram’s hand as he walked her out to the SUV continuing his conversation over the phone. Priya was so mad with him that when the security guard opened the front door for her she jumped into the back seat, he very discreetly closed the door. I’m going to kill him she gritted her teeth she put on her sunglasses taking out her iphone she stuck her earphones on, how could that Kiran woman touch her man, he took out to dinner what the hell was going on here and she calls him darling Priya was mortified while Ram however innocently got into the driver seat still talking on the phone he started the car driving off then realizing Priya was sitting in the back seat he’s finished his call and looked through his review mirror baby why you sitting in the back seat, she pretended like she never heard him Ram looked at her strangely and realized she had her head phones on while looking out the window. A few minutes later Ram said again baby where would you like to go still nothing Priya I’m talking to you where do you want to go to sweetheart, no response Ram shook his head and thought ok lets go the apartment since she wanted him to cook for her so let’s see what he could whip up, he had called the caretaker earlier to ensure that it was well stocked up.  Priya on the other hand had no interest in which direction they were heading she was so mad at Ram that remaining silent was her best option right now. 

 He drove into the secured undercover parking of the apartment basement. They got out the car Priya banged the door harshly and walked to the open lift not waiting for Ram she pressed the button for the doors to close.  When she got to their floor for the first time she keyed in the code to enter the apartment dropping her bag, phone and sunglasses on the nearest table she kicked of her shoe and walked into the lounge sitting down with her feet tucked underneath her she switched on the TV while her blood was boiling up an inferno.  Ram entered the apartment and went to look for her he found her in the lounge watching TV baby are you ok he asked her with concern, she didn’t answer, he went closer Priya what’s going on, still nothing from her, Priya for godsake what’s wrong why are you behaving like this?  Tired of hearing his voice she got up to leave he grabbed her hand why aren’t you talking to me he asked what happened that you so upset.  Are you upset with me because I made you wait I’m sorry ok, I’m really sorry I promise I’ll make it up to you baby please don’t be like this I’m really sorry.  She turned her fiery eyes on him let go of my hand she demanded, what he asked, I said let go of my hand.  Confused he let go of her hand and she began to walk away. Priya for god sake I’m sorry ok I didn’t mean to get stuck into a meeting it just happened, I don’t care about your god damn meeting she yelled. He looked at her open mouthed then what is it he asked.  You asking the question why don’t you figure out the answer to, what the hell come on babe don’t be like this how am I suppose to know what I’ve done wrong if you don’t tell me.  Folding her arms she said so did you enjoy your dinner date the other night. What dinner date he asked confused, taking her hand to her cheek she fluttered her eyelashes being totally bitchy, oh Ram darling you are my knight in shining armor thank you for saving me. He looked at her like she’d gone mad are you crazy he asked her when he realized what she was suggesting?

Her tone scaled an octave higher yes she screamed I’m crazy, I’m god damn crazy are you happy.  Ram was trying to stay calm he said you are mistaken it’s not what you thinking, I’m mistaken she screamed at him how dare you hold that woman right in front of me, for crying out loud she almost fell so I helped her.  Then you should have just let her fall, Ram said come on baby that’s not a nice thing to say.  Priya said nice, so nice that you let her call you darling and you went out on a dinner date with her she screamed, how could you her eyes were blazing?  Priya you getting this all wrong I would never take her or anyone else on a date it was a business meeting come on baby he tried to touch her don’t do this.  Don’t you dare touch me she shrieked at him just stay away from me you god damn having an affair with her. 

Ram had enough of her tantrums he shouted Priya what fucking rubbish are you talking about, you've completely lost the plot.  I’ve lost the plot she laughed oh yes gritting her teeth I did lose the plot picking up a glass ornament she crashed it against the wall and it shattered into pieces.  Jesus Christ he exclaimed stop it, no I won’t stop it she yelled I won’t stop it she sent another piece flying across the room, damn you Priya for-god sake stop this childishness right now he yelled at her trying to grab her but she avoided him running past him Priyaaaaaaaaaaaaaa he shouted get back here right now. Go to hell she screamed at him running up the grand stairway she found her way to the master bedroom banging the room door shut she ran to the huge bed flinging herself across it sobbing. Ram was so mad at her as he ran after her how could she think such crazy thoughts dammit Priya, he opened the door sending it flying against the wall while she continued sobbing he climbed on the bed trapping her body with his he turned her over, leave me alone she hit out at him, stop it he said just stop this as he tried to hold her hand she punched his shoulder and hit his head, God damn you Priya I swear I will slap you right now if you don’t stop this craziness, you big brute she yelled at him go to hell I hate you, I hate you do you hear me and she burst out crying even louder.
