                                                              Chapter Thirty Eight

Being rich certainly had its advantage but when you were India’s richest billionaire it was no longer just an advantage it was your right of an exclusive privilege. Ram Kapoor was not just a billionaire he was a billionaire man in love with his wife. From her every need to her every desire, her every want, her every command all happened by his will for he knew best while demanding total ownership of her and their life.  They were not just husband and wife they were lovers defining the art of romance in their hidden paradise. The weekend away at their luxurious apartment was a dream of pure magic here they secluded themselves from the real world openly in love, loving each other with no inhibitions for time in its essence was valuable and precious that even the timepiece itself wanted to stop its miniscule hand from turning the clock so that they could completely indulge. Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock the master clock continued its cycle of seconds into minutes, minutes into hours, day into night, night into day. The problem with time it waited for no man it urged you to fill every second with intense loving to never let a second pass wasted, so it was up to you to make it worth your while.  

This bright beautiful Monday morning Kapoor Mansion was once again in its element. This weekend it surely missed it master and mistress but now the essence of their world was back in the green room getting ready to kick start the day ahead.   The dressing room was full of activity both rushing around in between the mirrors exposing naked bodies nicked with love marks.  Priya complained Ram look at my body I look like a lobster, he laughed eyeing out her naked body I have to say you a mighty cute lobster at that.  It’s not funny she grumbled, what’s the big deal he said, your clothes will cover it anyway. How very insightful of you Mr Kapoor but what about my neck? Don’t you have that makeup stuff you can use anyway leave your hair open no one will notice? How easy you make that sound she said annoyingly.  He was just about to remove his shirt off the hanger when his hand stilled.  He turned around and faced her, seeing her pouted expression he approached closing in backing her against the wall with his finger he traced the bruising on her neck down to her breasts along her swollen stomach and right below her bikini line. Are you complaining he asked her softly sliding his hand between the juncture of her legs, unsure of herself she whispered yes. With his middle finger he gently touched her at her most intimate point stroking on her clitoris.  She took whispered breaths the tension he was creating made her tighten her legs. Later that morning he dropped Priya off at college before she could exit the car her eye kept focusing on his bare hands holding the steering wheel firmly. She still did not like the fact that he didn’t have his ring on so she gave him a stern warning I hope by the time you come home this evening your ring will be back on your finger, or what he asked? Or don’t you even bother coming home she opened the car door leaving him gaping at her parting shot.  God but she was a terror his cute little terror he chuckled shaking his head he put the car into gear and drove off to Kapoor Industries.  There was a light step in his walk almost like he was walking on air, he grinned as he passed through the corridor greeting his employees some said good morning sir hope you had a good weekend, he laughed and said the weekend couldn’t be better.

 He walked into his spaciously modern designed office with his first task of immediate action his ring otherwise he knew his wife would screw his life.  Walking into his plush private bathroom he looked on the marble top basin counter and came up with a confused look trying to find his wedding ring.  The mirror in the bathroom clearly showing panic he walked to his desk and searched all over opening and closing the drawer but still nothing.  Jenny he called loudly, no response he lifted the phone to buzz her but it was answered by someone else, sir its Kavitha Jenny is on a day’s leave. What he shouted who authorized that, you did sir, ok he said crossly and put the phone down. He put his hands on his head, god what was he going to do if his ring went missing he couldn’t even comprehend that thought his heart sank.  He picked up the phone and said Kavitha find out who cleaned my office and send them to me, yes sir will certainly do that right now.  A few minutes later an office cleaner came into his office, sir you called, yes did you clean my office this weekend? Yes I did sir, did you happen to see my ring in the bathroom no sir there was nothing in there when I cleaned it. Are you sure Ram asked him again, yes sir I’m completely sure there was nothing there, ok you may go?

He pulled out his phone and looked for Jenny’s number to call her but her phone was on voicemail, he tried again this time leaving a message for her to urgently call him back, fuck what was he going to do if the ring could not be found, he was stressing there was sweat forming on the side of his forehead.  A few minutes later his phone rang caller ID incoming from Jenny he answered sir you called me yes Jenny why can’t you woman answer your damn phone? Sorry sir she said. Jenny I have a problem, what is it sir? My ring I left in my bathroom it’s not there and I cannot find it the cleaner didn’t see it either, but sir I’ve got your ring, what he said his heart stopped to process it, I got your ring I kept it away for safekeeping, he breathed a sigh of relief phew she could actually hear the relief from him so where is it jenny ? sir it’s in my draw but I’ve got the key with me. Damn he said I need that ring Jenny or I’m dead today.  She thought for a few seconds ok sir I can be there in two hours, that’s good enough he said and Jenny thanks I owe you, no problem sir I will see you later.

Two hours later Jenny walked into his office smiling with his ring between her fingers, sir your ring he got of his chair and came around the table with the brightest smile and said Jenny you are my life saver thank you for this he took the ring a bit to eagerly thanking his lucky stars he slipped it back on his finger vowing never to take it off again. Jenny I’m sorry I disturbed you on your day’s leave, no problem sir I’m glad I could help.  She hesitated sir can I speak to you for a few minutes, off course come take a seat she sat down across his desk while he went around to sit on his chair, she twisted her hand in her lap seemingly nervous but happy.  Sir I’m not sure how to tell you this,  Jenny whatever it is just tell me. With a bit of courage she said Sir I’m getting married, oh wow he beamed that’s wonderful news Jenny congratulations I’m really happy for you.  Thank you sir her uncertainty came back not sure how to continue, sir the thing is I have to resign from work.   What he looked shocked yes sir unfortuantely I will have to leave work. 

Look Jenny I know what’s it like to be married I know how demanding it gets and I totally understand family commitments and why you would want to leave but please just wait a bit don’t rush into this decision, think about it and we’ll talk again.  I don’t want to lose you Jenny you too valuable here in the office take a few days to think about it clearly and we can talk again, whatever it is you want Jenny an increase, time off, reduced hours anything that you want just let me know we can negotiate the terms.  She was so overwhelmed by her bosses generosity she loved her job, she loved to work for the Ram Kapoor he was an amazing human being sometimes he went a bit off but no one cared because overall he was a gem of a boss and so highly respected from the security guards to the top ended executive members.  Thank you sir she got up to leave and he said once again Jenny congratulations I’m really happy for you.  She smiled and said sir thank you for being the best boss, he smiled back and said well I’ve got the best secretary she had tears forming at the corner of her eyes overwhelmed at his kindness and not wanting him to see her being emotional she turned and walked out leaving a contently happy Mr Kapoor looking at his ring admiring it on his finger.

 

 

An idea popped in his head he got his phone and took a photograph of his hand with his ring in its rightful place. He sent the picture with a simple message to his wife asking her are you happy now? Priya was in class busy with her lecture when her phone vibrated silently on her desk she ignored it and continued with her lesson.  At the end of the class when all her students had left she sat down on her chair tired from all that standing her feet were starting to swell she knew that as her pregnancy advanced it was going to be difficult to keep up teaching with the demands of her husband so she was considering leaving her job to fully concentrate on her baby and her big baby smiling at the thought of Ram she took her phone to see the message and saw one from him which she eagerly opened to read she sent him a reply, nice ring.  Within seconds he replied back, thanks I will let my wife know.  She replied lucky wife or lucky husband?  He smiled when he saw the message  and responded lucky husband who loves to fuck his lucky wife, want to try? She received the message blushed at the crudeness in it and responded no thanks I’m busy he responded spoilt sport.

The afternoon progressed Ram was busy editing a contract when Vikram walked into his office taking a seat across the desk totally sullen and quiet,  Ram waited a few seconds and then said what’s with the sad face Vikram.  Hearing his friends voice he looked at Ram and said woman, come yaar what woman you talking about, Neha Ram it can only be Neha.  Ram chuckled at his friend ok tell me what happened. He clicked his tongue and shook his head and said I’m married to her for over 10 years and I can still never understand what the hell happens in her head.  Ok Vikram what’s she done ? the problem is Ram she’s done nothing but sits with this stupid damn book of hers and sighs over this Grey fellow or something like that.  What you talking about Vikram?  There’s this book that’s got all these woman totally hooked, what book Ram asked curiously, fifty shades or something I’m not sure but whenever I see her with it I want to burn the damn book and all thanks to this stupid book I had a lousy weekend.  Ram was confused Vikram always the level headed one was getting so worked up about a book in fact he never knew him to be like this moody over a book so he was quite taken aback and said ok buddy let’s do this let’s go out this evening just the two of us seems like you need it.  Vikram said that’s a great idea he got up to leave and said I’ll see you later.

Ram took out his phone to call Priya, hey baby what you doing?  I’m reading oh ok anything interesting he asked, no not really.  I see so how was your day, it was ok.  Just ok he asked how you feeling from this morning and she laughed I should actually ask you that question he chuckled and said let’s just say I feel like I’m inside you can you feel me baby. Her pulse rate quickened she placed her fifty shades gently on her stomach closing her legs remembering all that happened this morning and feeling a sticky wetness between her legs from all of her man she said hmmmmm yes I feel all of you. He gasped and said if I was with you right now I’d show you how much I love you baby a few seconds of silence passed he cleared his throat and said but I’m sorry to do this I’m going to be home late this evening I’m taking Vikram out seems like he needs a good cheer, are you going to be ok with this.  She said off course go I’m totally fine with it. Are you sure? Yes Ram I’m absolutely sure you have a good evening, ok he said I’ll see you later and I’ll try to be early so that I can get to see you.  she laughed and said we’ll see about that he chuckled and said oh yes how can I forget my baby gets tired hmmmmmm well try to wait up for me if you can, ok she said I love you, I love you too he said and I miss you already, miss you too she said. They both ended the call feeling all warm and loved by each other he went back to editing his contract and she went back to reading her fifty shades of Grey.

That evening after work Ram and Vikram headed for a quiet up market restaurant to totally chill it was a long time since they’d been out together it was something that they did regularly but then life changed Ram’s priorities were focused on his wife and work but he never stopped caring for his family and his friend they were part of his very existence.  After they ordered their drinks and meal Ram said can I ask you something, sure off course Vikram said. why you are making such a big issue of a book?  Vikram looked at him annoyed you calling it an issue I’m calling it a damn annoyance in my life I certainly have a problem when my wife his talking about Christian Grey in her sleep and her head always stuck in the damn book that she doesn’t even have time for me,  for god sake Ram we haven’t even made love in weeks. Ram said then do something about it you can’t be miserable tell her how you feeling.  Yeah right she’d probably take the book and whack me over the head with it, they both laughed at that image.  The drinks arrived and they casually took their sips savoring the taste on their pallets Ram said well thank god I don’t have that problem, Vikram smiled and said yeah enjoy It while it last,  Ram looked at him confused what do you mean by that.  Well you certainly in for some dry fast soon and he chuckled, Ram asked what do you mean?  We’ll if you having sex now be grateful that you can because pretty soon it’s all going to stop. 

Ram said yeah right like it ever would, oh my friend I guess you don’t know what’s in store for you he laughed.  Ram said cut the crap Vikram and just tell me,  well you realize that when your wife is pregnant there comes a time when you both can’t make love anymore, Ram was taking a sip of his drink when it went down choking him with shock,  Vikram said Ram are you ok yeah I’m fine he said trying to recover while Vikram continued and said and after the baby is born you probably can’t even touch her for at least another 6 weeks until the doctor say’s you can. What Ram looked horrified how do you know all this he asked Vikram who told you.  Vikram looked at him sarcastically hello I’m a father of three remember.  Ram looked at him in total shock his jaw dropped,  you mean to tell me no more sex, Vikram shook his head and said yup get use to it bud and took a sip of his drink.  Their meals arrived and they began to eat while they continued their talking and Vikram giving Ram more insightful information about fatherhood to say that Ram was stumped was putting it mildly he was totally flabbergasted clearly he wasn’t prepared for what was to come, God how was he going to survive,  after their meal Vikram said excuse me while I go to the gents. 

Ram watched his friend walk away took out his phone to call Priya,  Priya was in her room lying on her bed with Apeksha next to her on Ram’s side of the bed both deeply engrossed in their book. Priya’s phone rang she ignored it but it continued to ring Apeksha irritated said bhabhi switch your phone off she took her phone and saw it was Ram she quickly answered the call, how’s my girl doing he asked,  fine she said while her eyes focused on what she was reading, what you doing? Nothing much she said, ok he said I’ll see you soon we’ve just had our dinner I’m sure I should be home in about another hour at least, ok she said. I miss you baby, me too. Vikram came back to the table and Ram said to her I’ll see you soon byeeeee and cut the call.  Vikram I have an idea why don’t you take Neha away for the weekend I’ll sort out the bookings you don’t worry about anything, thanks bud but the kids Neha won’t agree to it hmmmmm Ram thought ok how about you go out for a complete day you don’t need to worry about the kids I’m sure we can arrange picking them up from school and for someone to babysit, yeah that sounds like a plan Vikram said.  Ok great leave it with me and i'll sort it out they continued to chat and enjoy the lighthearted conversations that they always shared with each other it was definitley fun chilling out with your bestest friend in the whole wide world even for a billionaire man.

It was around 11pm when Ram finally came home he walked up to his room to find his wife and sister both relaxing on the bed reading it seemed like a little feast was happening his wife had a bowl of popcorn on her lap while his sister had a tube of lays and Lindt wrapping crumpled on the bed they didn’t even hear him enter the room. This is a nice surprise how are my girls doing? He walked into the dressing room removing his tie and jacket then stopped turned and went back into the room.  Hello you two, oh hi bhai hope you had a nice evening yes I did he said. So what are you both reading, oh nothing much Apeksha said I was just keeping babhi company while you were away Priya blushed and Ram said ok good well you both carry on I’m going down to my study for a while. Apeksha said to him laters baby and both of them just giggled uncontrollably, He shook his head and walked out thinking his wife and sister lost their mind but he smiled to himself thinking thank god he didn’t have the same problem Vikram had.  Priya was sensible no way would she get caught in stupid romance books dreaming about its character he laughed to himself.

One hour later he came back to his room to find both Apeksha and Priya passed out, damn he said and went into the shower once he was done he came back thinking how did he wake up Apeksha shit that meant he’d have to sleep in the guestroom.  He went to his wife touching her hair and then sliding his hand along her cheek he loved to watch her sleep picking up the booked she held on her stomach he put it down on the bedside table covering her he whispered baby how am I going to sleep tonight?  he kissed her fore head and went around to the side of his bed covering his sister he took the book from the side of her face and placed it on the bedside table but this time he noticed the darkish grey cover with a silver knotted tie and the title Fifty shades of Grey he stilled completely his eye glancing over to the other side of the table and he could see the same book.  Fuck he thought what the hell is happening here.  He went back around the table and picked up the book, his wife was reading this shit too god damn it now what the hell was he suppose to do.

 

Ram was not impressed he went into the guest room in a mood but damn he wasn’t like Vikram no way will he let any damn Grey character mess up his life, fuck no way was that happening.  He went to bed and got in totally irritated and annoyed he battled to sleep kept tossing and turning eventually he fell into an unsettled sleep the only words ringing in his head was Vikram’s laugh and him saying you can’t touch her, you going to be dry fasting, and then he thought of Priya calling out Christian I need you. He tried to shake away his demons and think about their weekend and somehow everything else just vanished.  It was 3am on the clock when Priya woke up and found Apeksha sleeping next to her, where was Ram she woke up and went in search of him and found him in the guestroom lying on his back his hand resting above his head,  she smiled and thought to herself her fifty was clearly not happy she closed the door and turned the key in the lock, she climbed in and went on him nestling her face at the corner of his neck, in his sleep he could feel her on him his hands came down holding her gently moving his hands over her. She held his face and kissed him I missed you she said, she moved her body over him the silk of her nightie soft against him he caressed her buttocks god baby I needed you so much shushhhhhh she said I’m here sliding her tongue along the outline of his lips her loose hair falling over him she slipped her tongue into his parted mouth kissing him running her hands in his hair she deepenied the kiss while he held her closely tight.  Don’t leave me he said, don’t ever leave me she came up for some air and said why would I leave you, just he said I’m just saying it I can’t live without you ever.  She said holding his face between the palms of her hands if you are my life how can I ever leave you he crushed her to him kissing the side of her neck I love you he said god I love you so much.
