Chapter Forty Two

 

Mrs Priya Ram Kapoor being the wife of an illustrious businessman re-defined the art of tantrum throwing.  She was not the kind of wife who demanded superficial things but rather fought for something far more precious to her, her husbands  valuable time. Today all she wanted was Ram by her side at her gynae appointment. This however left him perplexed being far away from her in Dubai facing a rather difficult business negotiation. To achieve today’s end result on her part all it took was a bit of shouting, a bit of screaming, a hanging threat, an overdose of guilt and some serious sulking to bring her husband to a quandary.

In trying to get back to her in record time he had to beat the natural odds against him, putting up with a time difference of
 +1 hour 30minutes and a commercial flying time of 3 hours to get to Mumbai. In his private jet he was pushing for less than 2 hours and 15 minutes. He knew he was literally a screwed man but If he was the lion then she was surely the lioness who was ready to rip him apart for daring to leave her alone.  Was he a henpecked husband? God only knows she had a controlling power over him like no other. When she commanded he was left with no choice. He hated her sulking treatment which she was master off and knowing better he’d rather be a love struck puppy than a victim to his hell cat’s fury. This was a love story that was beyond normal, it was obsession and possession all in one keeping us glued to the goings on in their daily lives.  It was quiet evident that he should never mess with his pregnant wife or his life would surely be hell. In lay man's terms it meant his life was fucked.

Earlier that morning Sheikh Mohammad Bin Hussain Al Khalifa was testament to this husband’s madness when at exactly
8.00am Ram Kapoor walked into the sun room of the Sheikh’s palace.  The old man was sitting on his brocaded armchair indulging in delectable pastries while sipping on strong black Arabic coffee. Mr Kapoor he said, good to see you here bright and early. Ram in all seriousness said let’s cut to the chase Sheikh I am a busy man and don’t have time for your stalling , I’ve ensured that all your demands were met in this deal if you don’t want to sign it, then so be it but I’m leaving Dubai within the next 30 minutes.  For a few seconds the Sheikh silently assessed his demure and asked, Mr Kapoor may I know why the hurry?  Ram said without hesitation I have a pregnant wife that I need to get back too, I seriously don’t have the time to be here. So Sheikh without being crude you can literally take this deal and shove it if it's not what you want. With his hand resting casually on the arm rest the old Sheikh listened while stroking his grey beard, I see he said so you prepared to throw our deal aside just to get back home to your wife?  Exactly Ram said.  The Sheikh laughed most heartily and gestured for Ram to sit down,  Mr Kapoor have an almond pastry it will surely sweeten your mood addressing his man servant the Sheikh said, Mustafa serve Mr Kapoor some coffee he needs some of our strong rich flavors to brighten his day.

Sheikh are you not hearing me I said I don’t have time, I know what you said Mr Kapoor just sit down.  Ram annoyed but out of courteousness sat opposite the Sheikh.  So Mr Kapoor you love your wife? Ram nodded his head yes I do. That’s very good I’m glad to hear that. The Sheikh said, you see I loved my wife dearly we were married for 52 years when she passed away.  Till her dying day I loved only her she was the mother of my eight children. We were truly blessed with a happy life together but one day when we least expected it, it all changed for us. The Sheikh in a somber mood down memory lane said, with all the money in the world I could not save her from her death, you see she was diagnosed with breast cancer and over the years we slowly watched this strong woman loose her hope and her will to live.  Sadly Ram listened, surprised and regretfully he said to the Sheikh I’m really sorry for your loss sir. In Emirati culture a man never discussed his personal life and you were barred from daring to ask about his family therefore Ram was taken aback by the Sheik’s openness. The Sheikh cleared his throat give me the contract Mr Kapoor I’ll sign it.  Ram was speechless, what he asked again, the contract Mr Kapoor?  Ram produced the papers for the Sheikh to sign, sir may I know why you changed your mind?  The sheikh laughed, its simple Mr Kapoor love it’s all about love. You love your wife and that makes me think you the man I want to do business with.

So here he was back in Mumbai The Ram Kapoor driving his wife to their love nest, an exclusive apartment that belonged solely to them for some quiet solitude of tender loving care without disturbances, without interferences just a desperate need of a husband and wife to belong to each other completely. He still had to placate her the only way he could, stepping out of their private elevator into their luxurious apartment Ram pushed Priya against the wall taking her by total surprise. Lifting her eyebrow she questioned him, why Mr Kapoor did you have something in mind? She seductively bit into her lower lip while her eyes bewitched him. He closed in on her their noses touching, running his finger along the side of her jaw line he said, Mrs Kapoor I do have something in mind. Taking a quickened breath  almost casually she said, I wonder what that could be? He smiled at her cheekiness, its pretty simple my love touching her parted lips with his I’ve been dying to kiss you like this. Holding her head firmly in place he slipped his tongue into her mouth while their tongues mated on and on it went.  She gripped the back of his neck pulling him close while they kissed each other most passionately. Finally letting up for some air their heavy breathing broke into the silence of the apartment making the walls literally blush in their shyness.

 I missed you he said, I missed you so much. She said, if you remember correctly I’m not talking to you. With a chuckle he said I’ve had that line ringing in my ear from yesterday itself. Looking at him bemused she said well in that case you have no reason to forget it. He laughed but baby I’ve redeemed myself.  Oh really she said what did you redeem?  Well for starters I made it back in time to be at your appointment.  She lifted her eyebrow so does that mean I should forgive you just like that? He said, without doubt off course you have to forgive me. With a sparkle in his eye he brought on his devilish charm. She said, I’ll have to think about it and he asked what does a guy have to do to get a break here? That’s easy she said he should never pull a stunt like that ever again.

But I told you I was never planning to stay over.  That’s not it she said how would you feel if I went away without informing you first of where I was going to? He thought for a moment and said I’d go crazy. Exactly my point, she said. That’s how I felt knowing you left without telling me first. Looking seriously at her I’m really sorry I didn’t stop to think please forgive me I’ll never do that again. Priya thought for a few seconds with a glint in her eye she said well that’s not my decision to make. He looked at her confused to answer his confusion she said I have to check with my baby first. He laughed dropping down on his knee kissing her stomach while he wrapped his arms around her waist bringing  his mouth back lightly against her stomach. Baby please tell mama not to be so difficult to forgive papa because papa is really sorry for what he did.

He glanced up to look at her, their eyes met he continued to speak to his baby. If mama forgives papa I’ll make her really happy tonight. She hit his shoulder, ouch clutching his shoulder that hurts.  Do you have no shame talking to your baby like that? What did I say he asked innocently?  She looked at him sternly don’t pull that innocent face on me.  He looked playfully sad all I said I was going to make you really happy tonight just maybe I’m planning to take you out for your kulfi treat.  All forgotten in an excited glee Priya was at her element really she asked, are you really going to buy me kulfi? Off course he said. Using it to his full advantage he asked so am I forgiven? A few seconds passed and she said yes, my baby thinks I should forgive you. He got up smiling that’s more like it. But can I remind you that’s my baby in there, oh really, proclaiming his possessive streak yes its my baby.  Correction she said it’s our baby.  He looked at her amused I could live with that. Kissing her mouth soundly he repeated it’s our baby.   

You know Mrs Kapoor you really know how to play hard ball she laughed well Mr Kapoor I have you to thank since you taught me all that I know. He laughed, well if only I knew this earlier, you would what she asked? I would have taught you to be an obedient wife instead. She looked at him horrified I’m so going to kill you for that. He laughed in that case Mrs Kapoor can we have our nap first? Are you sure it’s only a nap you talking about? With a naughty smile he said have I ever lied to you? She said we’ll see about that.  Let’s go he said as he led her up the stairs to the master bedroom.

Walking in to the huge room without the fancy frills of the candles and flowers from their first night here, she had the chance to admire the view in its natural state totally loving every bit of what she saw.  This room is so beautiful she said, Ram watched his wife look around the room there’s only one beauty in here and that’s you.  She turned to face him with her head slightly tilted her arms folded why Mr Kapoor I think you trying to be nice to me? He looked at her and said but I’m always nice to you. With a mischievous look she said well that’s what you think. He made a grab for her but she was quick she sidestepped him and ran behind the wingback chair giggling as he lunged after her. You are so going to pay for that Mrs Kapoor, she giggled some more need I remind you I’m pregnant, he lunged after her  again but once again she was quick.   Oh no you don’t he said, she grabbed a cushion from the chair and flung it at him to keep him away with the reflex of his hand he caught it in time, oh you so going to get it when I get hold of you. He came after her and she ran around trying to get away from him but this time he caught her. She screamed as he tumbled her on the bed holding her arms above her head she laughed hysterically as he tickled her that’s for giving me a hard time. No, no she giggled some more stop please stop. Eventually he relented with both of them out of breath he rolled off lying next to her. 

For a few minutes there was just silence and only breathing, with her hand to her chest she rolled onto her side to face him and he rolled onto his side to face her. Picking up her hand he brought her palm to his lips dropping a kiss on it.  They both smiled at each other she said to him thank you for coming back for me and our baby. I love you Ram, I love you so much and he said I love you Priya more than you can dream to imagine with tears in her eyes she said, I know, I know how much she whispered.  He brought her over him as she buried her face into his neck holding him tight while he held her around her lower back.  She picked up her head and kissed his mouth.  I remember you said something about taking a nap and he said so I did.   He removed her blouse and she said but this is far from taking a nap he chuckled, baby I’m only getting ourselves comfortable he continued to remove both their clothing leaving her only in her lacy panty and him in his brief.   Pulling the cover aside he rolled her onto the soft silk sheet he went in beside her pulling her close to him. So you see baby I kept my word.  She smiled and he said sleep my angel she closed her eyes he closed his as they drifted off to a secured sleep holding each other close.

Outside the late afternoon turned into an early evening sunset Priya woke up to an empty stomach feeling hungry getting up from bed she went into the dressing room with everything being  all so new to her.  Finally she located a thin robe slipping it on she knotted the belt on her bulging waistline going downstairs her first stop was the kitchen she opened the fridge and saw it was fully stocked, closing it she opened a cupboard and found a selection of chocolates taking a slab with her she said let’s go see what my big baby wants to eat first. She smiled with thoughts of Ram and knew that she had to be the luckiest person having him for her husband. Yes she admits she gave him a hard time but in reasoning within herself she said, but off course that’s a wife’s duty and she laughed going to find her big burly lion.  He was in the lounge bare feet wearing loose fitted jeans and a skipper.  His laptop was on the coffee table while he looked at the screen talking to someone on his Iphone.  She silently watched him from the doorway as she ate some of the chocolate.  When he finally saw her standing there he smiled motioning her to him.  She went with ease sitting on his lap lying against his shoulder while he finished his call. Did my baby have a good sleep? hmmmm she said I did but I missed you. Sorry love I had some emails to clear so that’s why I left you to sleep. She broke a piece of the chocolate and fed it to him.  He slipped his hands into the V of her robe touching her bare breast  with his finger he played with her nipple, so what do you want to do, he asked her.

Totally relaxed and enjoying the feel of his hands on her she said I’m hungry. Ok he said let’s go out to dinner.  Let me prepare something for us to eat here but I’d rather take you out he said  we haven’t been out to dinner in a while just the two of us, so I thought tonight would be perfect.  Hmmmm ok she said but I’m really starving.  Well then let’s not delay I can’t have my babies starving you go get ready while I make our dinner reservation and I’ll be up now to dress.  Where are we going, she asked?  I was thinking we’d go to the Souk at the Taj Mahal Palace.  Are you ok with that, he asked? Honestly I don’t care I just need to eat.  He laughed well then you better get your ass moving.  She blushed, he said if you don’t get up now I will topple you over and make love to you right now because I’m so hard for you baby I’m dying to feel myself inside you. She moved her buttocks on him to feel his hardened length rub against her bottom. Priya he warned, shhhhh she said sitting astride him with her knees pressed on either side of him. It was quite apparent to Priya that she was Ram’s end all and be all of everything. Especially when he was prepared to throw away a business deal to race back to her giving her the most endearing surprise at her lowest moment, that moment when she missed him the most alone in the doctor’s room. Without a doubt in her mind she loved him more than anything else in this world.  Yes she gave him a hard time but let’s be realistic it was the wife’s job to put things into perspective. With a little pat on her back she congratulated herself for her cheekiness, she knew she had Mr Kapoor twisted around her little finger she was proud of her achievement because he was high maintenance demanding everything of her so why not give him a taste of his own medicine. Seeing him satiated by her little offerings of pleasure made her feel happy that she could with the skill of her mouth and hands on his manhood love him most freely. Ram would never forget the multitude of pleasurable sensations that ran through his entire body when he shuddered in her mouth and when she licked every last bit of his offering it was the most precious thing in the world to her.

So here they were almost 90 minutes later dressed in smart casual clothing seated in mystic candle light for a fine dining experience at the Souk in the Casablanca room for a truly authentic Middle Eastern cuisine that was certain to get any palette mouth watering.  Holding hands on the table they laughed and joked like they usually did speaking of their families and the upcoming wedding in the Kapoor family. They spoke about the joy of seeing their baby today, their hopes and dreams of parenthood.  Yes the food and conversation became a relaxed delight for the lovers while around them they were totally ignorant to the many patrons that viewed them in awe.  Yes you could never miss this special couple there was a chemistry between them that could be felt in every sphere of the world not just in India alone. Be it in the newspaper or a magazine, or a snippet on television it kept one spell bounded for more.

Their waiter asked them if they were ready with their dessert menu, Ram looked at Priya baby what would you like to eat for dessert, looking through the selection she closed the menu I’m going to pass.  Are you sure he asked again? Yes she smiled with a lopsided grin if I remember correctly somebody promised to buy me kulfi so that’s what I want.  He laughed and said ok madam lets go get your kulfi. Ram looked at the waiter and said thanks we done you can bring me the bill. A little while later they were walking through the foyer of The Taj Mahal Palace when Priya heard her name being called she turned to see a lady with her baby in her arms and then she smiled remembering them from the lift of the Four Seasons hotel the night of the party.

Arpita yes that’s her name Priya went across to her and said hi how are you?  Arpita said hi this is such a co-incidence bumping into you again.  Priya said yes it surely is if I remember correctly you here for a few days right, so are you enjoying Mumbai so far? Yes Arpita said well with the little time that I’ve managed, this bundle here has kept me fully occupied.  Priya smiled at the baby totally smitten by her she was a gorgeous baby and the baby seemed to be just has taken in by Priya she gurgled and kicked her little legs stretching her arms for Priya to carry her.  Oh my Arpita said my Aditi is totally crazy about you.  Priya laughed taking the baby into her arms she juggled her while she spoke in cute baby talk.   The two men on either side of woman looked on amused silently watching. Arpita made the introduction Rohit this is Mr Ram Kapoor and his wife Mrs Priya Kapoor, pointing to her husband she said and this is my husband Lieutenant Colonel Rohit Singh of the Indian Army.  Pleasure to meet you both men said shaking each other’s hands.  Rohit said to Ram I’m extremely surprised at my daughter’s behavior normally she doesn’t go to anyone but she seems completely at ease with your wife.  Ram laughed well Priya does have her way with children.  They both continued a general discussion as Ram spoke of his admiration of the Indian Army while the female troope of Priya, Arpita and Baby Aditi bonded a little more on motherhood. 

A little while later Ram said to Priya I think it’s time we left,  Priya smiled at him and then to Arpita she said we’ll it was a real pleasure meeting you again I have to tell you I just simply adore this little one. Baby Aditi smiled and gurgled away some more as she knew Priya was talking about her.  Priya said Aditi it’s time for me to go sweetheart she kissed her tiny forehead and handed her back to her mother.  Aditi wailed loudly refusing to go back to her mother, she didn’t let go of Priya grabbing on to her long tresses of hair, twisting it around her chubby fingers.  Priya chuckled and said Aditi my angel why you crying sweetheart? See here’s your mama and the baby howled even more ducking her head into Priya’s neck refusing to be taken by both her parents.  The passer by’s in the foyer looked on curiously while both Rohit and Arpita were shocked at their child’s behavior. Ram smiled seems we have a problem both parents said we just can’t believe this.  Arpita said I’m really sorry about this Priya. No, no its ok Priya said assuringly while Arpita held on to her babies tiny body allowing Priya to let go of her.  Aditi’s shriek was piercing hitting the eardrum it was so heart wrenching that Priya couldn’t bear to see her like this so she said I think we’ll leave now. Rohit said I’m really so sorry about this I don’t know what’s gotten into Aditi she’s never like this.  Priya smiled it’s ok you just take care of her they bid them farewell and walked away hearing the shrill of the babies screech echoing through the foyer of the hotel.  

Once outside both breathed a sigh of relief, oh my god Priya said that was just horrible.  Ram said you see that’s your problem you get to attached. Priya said but I didn’t do anything, I know you didn’t but sometimes you need to think before you act.  Priya said ok I agree I should not have carried the baby but she was so cute I couldn’t resist.  Ram shook his head what am I going to do with you?  She tilted her head and smiled putting her arm through his she said well that’s simple you going to walk me across to buy me my kulfi from the vendor over there.  He looked at her and said you know what Mrs Kapoor you are extremely demanding.  She eyed him and said are you complaining Mr Kapoor.  He chuckled I won’t dare complain she giggled and said well I’m glad you realize that, he mumbled under his breath cheeky madam she said I heard that.

Marine drive was a circular bend along the Arabian sea enclosing it into a secluded bay, here night time was alive along the promenade with people walking along enjoying the freshness of the evening and it was here that most came to watch the sunset viewing and then stayed on late into the night.  It was very common to find lover’s walking hand in hand when you looked at them you knew romance was in the air.  Priya quiet thoroughly enjoyed eating her kulfi stick while feeding it to Ram. She wanted to be overly indulgent so she demanded for a second one and off course the husband lovingly made sure she got it. After she was done she hugged him and said thank you I’ve had the best time.  He smiled at her and said it’s my pleasure. While In his arms she spotted a horse drawn carriage and with an excited look she asked him do you promise to fulfill everything that I ask of you, he touched her cheek baby it gives me the greatest pleasure to make you happy. She clapped her hands in excitement and said well in that case Mr Kapoor I want to go on a carriage ride.  He said well after the baby is born we’ll go to New York together and you can have your carriage ride in central park it’s really beautiful and I know you will enjoy it.  She looked at him weirdly why would I want to go to New York for a carriage ride when I can have one right here pointing to the horse drawn carriage across them.

 

Ram looked at her horrified you mean you want to go on that thing right now. Off course she said I want to go now.  Tiny drops of sweat beads formed along his hairline you got to be joking right? I’m not joking and yes I’m very serious. But, but he stammered no but, but clinging onto his arm she said let’s go. He was left with no choice but to follow cursing this madam for wanting to go on that god forsaken carriage yuck he shuddered to think how creepy it all looked. He wriggled his nose totally put off.  Priya said to him stop being such a spoilt sport have you never been on one she asked? He shook his head she looked at him amused you mean you’ve never been on one ever, irritated he said no.

 She laughed at him the problem with you Ram is that you need to get out more and experience life like normal people do.  He said madam are you done with your lecture, she giggled yes.
 I’m not going on that thing he said, yes you are because you promised me. He said that’s not fair you conned me into it.  She pouted her lips sulking giving up she said ok have it your way and she turned to walk away. Seeing her walk away he gritted his teeth squeezing both his hands in the air almost like he was ready to wring her neck.  He went after her with an over the top smile under his breath he said madam your carriage awaits you. Smiling to herself she turned to look at him so are you saying you will come with me and he said under one condition, what she asked? He smiled devilishly I want a full body massage from you,  ok done it’s a deal she stretched her hand out and he took hers in a firm grip shaking it to close the deal. I love negotiating with you Mrs Kapoor and she said Mr Kapoor I’ll remind you of that in the future. He laughed swatting her backside let’s go madam and she squealed ouch you crazy man I’m pregnant and he said funny it doesn’t stop you from having the biggest mouth under the sun. Her jaw dropped totally exasperated by what he said, he laughed are you coming or not?  He left her as he walked off in the direction of the carriage.

The slightly breezy night had an enchanting mood with late night strollers walking along while cars passed through the steady flow of the traffic and different sounds echoing in all directions.  It was so easy to feel the thrill of the city night right here in this horse drawn carriage which was decked out in its daily ensemble with its colorful display of artificial flowers and pop up balloons added to give its own uniqueness but what the horse and its master didn’t realize seated in their carriage was Ram & Priya Kapoor India’s richest billionaire They were sitting on faded velvet lined cushioned seats ready to enjoy the splendors of the night as they passed through the land mark areas for a romantic ride around.  Ram had his arm around Priya’s shoulder her head lay against him while on their laps they draped the light summery shawl that she carried for the sometimes breezy nights. The rider turned smiling at them and asked music? They both nodded their heads.  He off course did this run day in day out a thousand times over and could assess immediately what sort of mood was needed and so he chose some fine bollywood love songs as the song Haal E Dil from the movie Murder 2 played to full volume. 

 

 

Priya held on to his free hand playing and twisting around his fingers she circled his wedding band and said are you enjoying this, he said yes I am I never realized how amazing a carriage ride in Mumbai could be she smiled so you agree that you don’t need to go anywhere else but right here we have something equally spectacular.  He laughed I did have my doubts on the safety aspect but being here with you right this moment is the most amazing experience. She looked up at him smiling I’m glad you think so. He smiled back bringing her face closer to his as he kissed her soundly I love you Mrs Kapoor.  He slipped his hand underneath the shawl and touched at the juncture in between her legs. Her breath quickened holding on to his hand she said no Ram someone will see us shuhhh baby trust me ok, just trust me she gave him all of her trust letting him administer his own sense of loving on her right here in this carriage through the layers of her clothing he found his way to her moistness touching her bare in feathered strokes.  She laid both her hands on his covering it while their mouths clashed their tongues finding its own strokes as his fingers worked her deep. The motion of the carriage bumping, the seductiveness of the soundtrack and her husband’s fingers inside her, he knew when she was about to come holding her tightly firm around the back of her neck he kissed her solid to drown the sounds of her moans as he brought her to an explosive climax her liquid heat smeared on his fingers as he gently pulled out of her and brought his fingers to his mouth to lick off all the she gave him. She looked at him in stilled motion speechless to what they'd done right here. Words were not needed just a closeness a nearness as their heart beats quickened to the pace of horse hooves clapping along.  Rearranging her clothing she rested her head back on his shoulder while she closed her eyes holding on to his arm.

A few minutes later Ram's voiced could be heard baby wake up we are here she opened her eyes to view the point of where their carriage ride began it was the end. He helped her step down guiding her footing as she gently came into his arms, hmmm he hugged her whispering in her ear if only I had realized earlier how much fun a carriage ride could be.  She said well i'm glad you didn't because you would off taken your girl friends before me and I would be so jealous if you did. He laughed and said baby you never fail to amaze me come on lets go home holding her hands they walked their way to the car.

What a night it turned out to be romantic filled with passionate love . When they arrived back to their apartment they headed straight for their bedroom knowing full well how this night was going to end.
