                                                          Chapter Fifty Five

Her silken body curved around his back as she slithered her golden tanned leg in between his brushing herself against him like a feline cat on heat.  In his deep sleep he savored her soft touch I love you she whispered I love you.  The voice was different the accent familiar from his distant past. He opened his eyes from his magical dream to a reality that was hard to distinguish from as her blonde tresses of hair spilled over his muscular chest.  For sure he was knocked for six as a silent shock wave turned his face ashen. She laughed in amusement at his confusion, so finally you awake.  Avoiding eye contact with her, he looked at the clock trying to focus and it suddenly struck him, holy shit he cursed as he pushed her away to stumble out of bed and tried desperately to locate his clothing which lay scattered on the room floor.  She leaned against her elbow to watch him as the ivory satin sheet slipped purposefully to expose her from any kind of modesty; her deep ocean blue eyes sucked in his well toned body.  What’s the hurry Nik come back to bed so that we can finish what we started.  She arched her body to entice him to her but he refused to get caught into her seductive spell. No I can’t, he was cross with himself for his rash foolishness I’ve got to go or I’m going to miss my flight.  Picking up his black tuxedo pants he began to dress as she watched his every move so have you checked-in for your flight, she asked?

Sitting back down on the edge of the bed he pulled on his socks while slipping into his shiny black Dolce & Gabbana shoes my secretary sorted my online check-in.  Good she said as she moved to get of the bed let me drop you off at the airport.  No he quickly said but thanks for the offer it will be easier for me to get a cab, don’t be ridiculous Nik it won’t take me long, no really its fine it’s still early you go back to bed as he called the local cab company to ask for an urgent pick up, after confirming her address he ended the call and for the very first time since he’d woken up he turned to look at her.  She was beautiful but right now he felt nothing for her all that he could think of was his Indian love, I’m sorry Steph, what for she asked?  Evading her question he said nothing she crawled on the bed wrapping her arms around him thank you for last night it was wonderful I really missed you Nik I missed us.  He brushed her off him as he got of the bed not wanting to hear more I’ve got to go Steph we’ll catch up later, promise she demanded.  He turned to pick up his jacket stuffing his bow tie in his pocket, I promise ok but he didn’t mean for it to be true.  He walked out of the bedroom and out of her apartment as he stabbed the lift button with impatience wanting to be far away from her and this city.  While inside she cuddled against the pillow that he’d used inhaling his musky scent she purred remembering all the things they did to each other and with a satisfied smile she reached for her phone to admire the photo of the both of them together from last night which she shared on social media from her twitter ID Steph@StephanieMiller tagging Nik whom she was once again so hopelessly caught up with.

While all the way to Boston Nikhil berated himself for his act of foolishness. In wanting to rid himself of Apeksha Kapoor he tangled in his past.  Last night he had attended a US Law Society Gala in Washington, though not in the mood he was compelled to go as his law firm Blake & Associates had sponsored a table of 10 at $125,000.  Part of the proceedings from the event was going towards the Children of Africa Fund which would help to give free education to poverty struck children across the great African continent. For Nikhil it was some- what of a mixed evening meeting up with his business associates & friends, so much so that he pretty much got swayed by the very beautiful damsel Stephanie Miller his ex flame well ex fiancée. One thing led to another and they ended up in her apartment in bed together.  He was disgusted with himself for wanting to prove he was over Apeksha so on a rebound he re-kindled the Stephanie magic only he felt worse than he ever did. No wait a minute wait a god damn minute why am I punishing myself he asked?   I’ve done nothing wrong Apeksha broke up with me so I owe her nothing but why is she still invading my thoughts it’s not like she wants to be with me so why do I care so much?

In Mumbai a brewing of its own was taking place, Apz can I ask you something holding the phone close to her ear, what is it Nutz what do you want to know? Is Nikhil seeing somebody else there was silence and then she asked very carefully why are you asking?   Well just a little while ago I was on twitter and just happened to check Nikhil’s timeline I saw a picture of him and this gorgeous blonde at some event together so I just kind of wondered who is she, wait I’ll send you the picture right now just hang on a bit?  Seconds later Apeksha saw the picture for herself and her world froze while her heart ripped piece by piece, Pi are you there?  She tried to control the gulping sob that was ready to break, Di come on please talk to me are you ok I’m so sorry I should not have sent you the picture I’m really sorry Di please don’t be mad at me.  No its ok Nutz I’m fine, no Pi something is wrong I feel it please tell me what’s wrong she coaxed.  Nothing the soft voice said nothing is wrong; don’t lie to me ok I know you hiding something from me.  The hounding by her baby sister was a bit much and finally she broke down, it’s over Nikhil and I are over.  What Natasha was shocked Di I’m coming over right now no Nutz please don’t she begged I’m ok really I'm ok, but you not Di I know it she insisted.  Trying to be brave she said really Nutz listen to me I am fine I haven’t told anyone apart from you now.  Finding it hard to hear her sister cry but wanting to know more Natasha asked when did you break up with him?  A few weeks ago she said, Natasha was shocked to hear this how could you Pi so much happened and you didn’t say word.  Sniffling her nose Apeksha said I couldn’t everyone was so worried about bhabhi and I didn’t want to confuse the situation with my own problems so I kept it to myself.  For how long Pi you know you will have to tell everyone just the other day when I called ma was saying that she was going to invite Nikhil’s family over.  Apeksha was worried Nutz how am I going to tell this to Ma and Bhai?  Apz you got to do this soon before they find out from someone else.  I just can’t believe how Nikhil moved on so quickly I’m sorry I shouldn’t,  it’s ok Nutz they were engaged before we met I guess they must still love each other.  Natasha was flabbergasted I can’t believe this so you actually ok with them being back together, there was a knock on the room door Bansi kaka entered saying to Apeksha her mother was calling her.  Nutz I’ve got to go ma is calling me,Di you know I am here if you need anything, I know, good I love you Di you take it easy and I will call you in the morning, I love you to Nutz and she ended the call going into her bathroom too quickly wash her face before she went to face her mother.

Isn't it strange that when we caught up in one thing a hundred other things start unfolding at the same time that could either  worsen or better the situation.  That early evening Ram and Priya walked into Kapoor Mansion into an unusual scene hearing raised voices of his mother and darling sister who seemed to be in a midst of a full blown argument, both equally upset with each other.  Careless and abrupt in her approach Apeksha said to her mother this is my life I will do what I want and you have to respect that.  Krishna Kapoor was stunned by her daughters tone as she watched her turn to run up the grand stair way to hide her emotional heart.   Krishnaji felt deeply wounded by the way she was spoken too it was not in her daughter’s nature to be rude and so it hurt her very much.  At the foyer Ram and Priya both looked at each other taken aback by what they were seeing rushing forward he asked, ma what’s going on here why are you and Apeksha arguing?  Seeing her son Krishnaji put her hand against her mouth shaking her head in disbelief she sat down on the sofa as she broke down. Ram was speechless his mother was always so gracefully composed that he wondered what could have happened between his mother and sister.  Looking up the stairs for some trace of a clue he found that the stairwell was empty.  A very concerned Priya knelt in front of her mother-in-law holding her hand she said, ma please tell us what happened?

Finally able to speak Krishnaji spoke giving a detailed account of what had happened, I phoned to speak to Nikhil’s mother I wanted to apologize for not being able to meet with them before and I wanted to invite them over so that they could meet with us to formalize the engagement.  At first she was very surprised by my call and I found that strange, I wondered why but then she told me she was confused by my call as to her knowledge there wasn’t going to be an engagement Nikhil and Apeksha had broken up.  I was shocked saying to her it’s impossible she must be mistaken because Apeksha had not told us anything but she told me that Nikhil had told them a few weeks back there wasn’t going to be a wedding.  Ram was horrified what does he mean there’s isn’t going to be a wedding, looking at Priya his face was changing color I will kill him I will bloody damn kill him if he dared to mess with my sister I swear it Priya I will kill him.   Ram beta please just calm down Nikhil didn’t do anything it was our Apeksha who refused to marry him. Looking at his mother Ram was indeed stunned to hear all of this, it’s true beta she doesn’t want to marry him I felt like such a fool speaking to Mrs Advani I couldn’t believe my own daughter could not tell me why did she have to hide this from us now what would Nikhil’s mother think of us?  

Seeing his mother so distressed Ram said look ma I’m certain there must be a valid reason why she doesn’t want to get married to him but beta how could she do this and not tell us, how long was she planning to hide this from all of us?  When I spoke to her just now she got upset with me and told me I am making too much of an issue that she will decide what she wants to do and I must leave her alone.   Krishnaji sobbed how can I do this beta? I was so happy that finally she found someone to marry and now only to find out that she broke it off without telling us.  She can’t stay like this forever she has to get married but she doesn’t want to listen to me pleading to Priya she said I know that you will get some sense into that girl please you have to speak to her and make her see some sense I know she will listen to you she always listens to you.  Ram said ma we can’t force her if she doesn’t want to get married we have to accept it, for the first time in all of this a confused Priya said but they were so much in love I can’t understand why she would do this.  Ram in his brotherly protectiveness said my darling is a smart girl and she deserves the very best if Nikhil is not the best for her then I’m glad she’s ended it.  Priya shook her head no Ram I disagree Nikhil was perfect for Apeksha he really loved her and she loved him back, Krishnaji had to agree with her daughter-in-law I’m with you Priya I just can’t accept that Apeksha turned down Nikhil. 

Having heard enough Ram firmly spoke making himself very clear, no one is going to force Apeksha to get married is that understood. Krishna said but beta this is your sister she must get married off course ma she’s my sister and I want her to get married but I will not force her to do so, but beta for how long will she remain single like this? Ma I don’t care about all that all I know is that I am here to support her in whatever her decision is. Krishna Kapoor looked at her son with disappointment, like she is your sister she is my daughter and I want her to get married and I want her to marry Nikhil.  Ram however was not convinced maybe Nikhil is not the right choice for her, no Ram Nikhil was the perfect choice for her and you know that too. For the first time in a very long time both mother and son where in disagreement with each other and Priya seemed stuck in between the two.  Ram walked off in a disgruntled mood leaving Priya alone with his mother. While in New York Padma Advani didn’t know what to make of the call that she had received.  At first she thought it was some kind of joke but when she realized it was really Krishna Kapoor she was shocked.  Picking up the phone she called her son at his Boston office but she ended up speaking to his assistant, Brenda this is Mrs Advani please can I speak to Nikhil? I’m sorry Mrs Advani he hasn’t arrived yet can I take a message for him? Disappointed Padma Advani said no it’s ok I will call him this evening and she ended the call.  Thinking to herself maybe I should rather speak to him over the weekend, these days finding the right time was always difficult if he wasn’t busy then he was in a bad mood not even when he broke up with that Stephanie woman was he this grumpy.  Looking at his photograph she scolded him why do you never listen to me sometimes you are just as stubborn as your father.

Back in Mumbai Priya walked into the master bedroom standing at the door she observed Ram sitting on the edge of the bed. She knew he was thinking about Apeksha but she decided not to discuss this matter with him because she knew how adamant he could be and right now she was in no mood to fight with him.  Walking towards him she asked him so my handsome why the sad face? Running his hands through his hair I’m tired then why didn’t you go to bed she asked him? I was waiting for you, she touched his face he caught her hand and their eyes met. What am I going to do with you she asked him?  That’s easy Mrs Kapoor bringing her hand to his lips he grinned you going to love me for the rest of your life, oh really she said yes really he jerked her forward as she tumbled on him landing them flat on his back.  You know you making this a bit of a habit he laughed well I like this habit very much. Trying to move of him he stopped her I have a question to ask you, what do you want to know?  Who is it that you’ve been phoning in Italy? She looked at him in surprise why do you want to know, because I didn’t realize you knew anyone there.  Priya was annoyed with him for snooping around on her phone why is it that every time my back is turned you are checking my phone?  It is simple logic my love after all what’s yours is mine and what’s mine is yours so technically it’s not really snooping.  Raising her eyebrows she said don't act to smart with me Ram because I will set a pin and lock it so that you will never find out what it is. Rolling her over he said you won’t dare do that, why she asked why can’t I do that because I’m your husband, so she asked, so Mrs Kapoor it’s mean you can’t threaten me just tell me who is it you calling?

Biting on her bottom lip she said maybe I’ve been calling my lover, he lifted her hand above her head growling into her ear as she giggled that serves you right for snooping around on my phone, just answer me he said who is in Italy? She laughed as he grazed her ear lobe with his teeth unable to control the ticklish sensation Ayesha she said I’ve been speaking to Ayesha.  Relaxing his hold on her hand he looked at her with curiosity when did Ayesha go to Italy he asked? She’s been there a few days now Milan will be her new base in fact she asked me to visit her while she is there. No he said absolutely not, will you at least let me finish what I was going to say, no he said you are not going anywhere Mrs Kapoor and that’s that?  Exasperated at his high handed ways she said why do you always jump to all the wrong conclusions, what do you mean, did I tell you that I wanted to go.  He smiled no you didn’t but I was just making myself clear.  Pushing him over she got of the bed, where are you going he asked her? Looking at him most seriously I think I’m going to kill you, he chuckled can you wait a while rather do it another day quite amused she asked him what’s wrong with now because I’d like to love my wife for bit longer he said.  Picking up the nearest cushion she threw it at him just get lost she said as she walked out the room with a broad smile on her face while looking up at the ceiling Ram hugged the cushion that she threw at him oh my life, my sweet adorable wife he lovingly complained. 

Priya felt really bad that she was so caught up in her own problems that she failed to notice what was happening around her, scolding herself she dished food and set it out on a tray to take up to Apeksha who had refused to come down for dinner, how could I have been so selfish, she thought?  Walking up to the room she knocked on the door Apeksha was sitting on her bed staring ahead blankly. I thought you might be hungry Apeksha looked at the tray without comment.  Priya said to her I have your favorite and Apeksha shook her head I’m not hungry but Priya was persistent its not healthy to go to bed on an empty stomach you have to eat just a little bit please she pleaded. Finally Apeksha had enough yelling at her bhabhi she said I’m not hungry I told you will you just stop it.  Priya was a bit taken aback but remained calm I’m sorry I’m not going to force you setting the tray on the dresser she said when you ready to eat it’s here and she turned to leave.  Apeksha looked at her leaving and said aren’t you going to ask me anything?  Priya turned around to face her do you want me to ask?  no she said quietly no I don’t, ok then I won’t but just know if ever you need me I’m here for you she bid her good night as she walked away leaving Apeksha feeling alone and miserable.  She knew she had hurt her mother and now her bhabhi too she hated herself for it but what could she do.  She hadn’t expected her mother to have made that call to New York and now her secret about her break up with Nikhil was out but the worst of it Nikhil moved on he was back with his old girlfriend.  Why was her life so unfair the man she loved lived in another part of the world a part that she was not ready for and he would never give it up for her so I guess he never really loved her.

When Priya entered her room she was distracted by thoughts of Apeksha and didn’t notice that her room was unusually dark, in the darkness Ram gripped by her waist she shrieked in shock putting his hands across her mouth shuuuush do you want to wake up the whole household Mrs Kapoor. Mumbling into his palm you scared me half to death, he laughed that can never happen sweetheart.  Quite amused she said now what is all this in aid of he shut their room door locking it  come with me as he closed her eyes and guided her towards their bathroom.  Ram what are you doing shuuuush he said again just don’t say another word, wrapping his one hand around her waist he brought her against his bulky body I’m sorry that our plans for today were ruined, I’m sorry that we fought earlier but I’m not sorry for what we did afterwards.  She giggled as he smiled and then continued to say I’m also sorry for what happened when we got home but for now I don’t want to think about anything else but us because us is all we need.  Promise me he said tightening his hold promise me that right now it’s just going to be about us and our love.  She couldn’t breathe as his words made her weak in the knees at the count of three I’m going to remove my hand, she didn’t know what to expect the unknown made her blush please let me see she said.  Counting softly he finally removed his hand and she was in awe of the beautifully dimmed lit bathroom with glass filled candles placed along the bath tub adding a soft romantic glow and a silver bucket with the best French champagne on ice.  He had filled the bath tub in foam sprinkling red rose petals on it thanks to the flower garden at Kapoor Mansion he was able to add these little warm touches at the last minute.  Turning around she wrapped her arms around him I love it she said I just love it she said excited, kissing him on his lips we haven’t done this in ages I know he smiled come on lets get in.  

 

 

They removed their clothing as he gently eased her into the foamy hot swirling water, ouch she moaned as the heat stung her skin, relax baby just close your eyes and relax while he himself got into the water and found his own comfortable spot.  Silence it was just silence as the heat of the water penetrated into all the tender knots releasing the pent up tension. Opening her eyes she lovingly looked at him how is it that you always know what I need?  Come here he said as she bit into her lip moving across to him she sat in between his legs her back lying against his chest as he gently stroked her.  She gripped either sides of his thigh as he sniffed her neck twirling his tongue on her skin, lifting her face she turned it slightly to face him while he lowered his head to take her lips into a ravishing kiss that was too hot to handle so she turned around straddling his lap to feel more.  His rock hard length rubbed against her as she gripped his neck and he held her back firmly as they continued to kiss. In rapid breathing he said quite explicitly baby I want to fuck you, his penis was causing a sweet tender friction down at her sensitive spot I want to fuck you so deep tell me he demanded tell me. Fuck me and in one big stroke he’d entered her.  She was shocked at the depth in which he took her feeling discomfort which she chose to ignore nothing was more important than this moment as he grew inside her to the point that they couldn’t control how they fucked.  Out of breath they tightened their hold on each other, I love you she said I love you so much he took her mouth roughly I love you my baby I love you more than you can imagine.  She held his neck tight as they both succumbed to a release shouting out in their passion while the electric hot foam water from their body heat sloshed all over.

In the earlier hours of the morning Priya woke up with a sharp pain gripping her abdomen, she got out of bed staggering to the bathroom.  The dull pain hit her hard as she doubled over kneeling on the bathroom floor, she tried to breathe to control the pain not even her yoga techniques could help because the pain controlled her more than she could withstand. She sat on the floor with the her back against the tiled wall, god what was happening to her,  she broke into a sweat how long she lay like this she didn’t quite care as she was bleeding unknowingly to sleep.
