Fan Fiction: A Jealous Rage! Chapter Twenty One

                                                     Chapter Twenty One
Saturday morning, Mumbai was filled with sadness for a special loved one.

The families were at the hospital with the news of Sudhir Sharma,

Priya spoke to her mother and said ma, have you told Ayesha about papa?
Shipra looked to Karthik and then at Priya and said no, not yet, I asked Karthik not to say anything to Ayesha
But Ma, she needs to know, she needs to be here with us.
Priya, I can’t handle all this right now, I just want my husband.
Leaning onto Priya’s shoulder, I just want my husband she cried.

A silent look passed between Ram and Priya thinking back to, earlier in the morning.

Four hours ago in RAYA room

From her grayish dream world Priya woke up from a frightening nightmare, wet trickles of tears rolling down her face and the only word that mattered “Papa”
She grabbed her phone of the bedside table quickly glancing to her husband who was still fast asleep.
So not to disturb him she went into the bathroom, closing the door and shutting herself out of her reality.

With a dread of fear, deep at the pit of her stomach, she barely managed to hold onto her phone while trying desperately to connect to the hospital.
Her hands shook violently every nerve end was on edge
The call had connected from her phone to the hospital and on the very fifth ring, the call was answered promptly

Priya spoke with a choked voice her emotions threatening to erupt, This is Mrs Priya Kapoor I’m calling to find out about my father, Mr Sudhir Sharma in ICU please.
Mam please hold on the line, while I transfer this call.

With every second ticking by, Priya’s heart rate increased at a faster beat. Was this a dream or was it for real, Did her father die?

A few seconds later

A female voice answered, Good Morning ICU
Her voice was badly shaken and the words just managed to get out, this is Mrs Priya Kapoor I’m enquiring about my father Mr Sudhir Sharma
Mrs Kapoor his condition is still very much the same there is nothing further I can tell you until the doctors have seen him later this morning.

Taking a huge gulp of air she released her breath unable to ask any more questions she thanked the nurse and disconnected the call.
Placing the phone on the marble top sink counter she held on to it edges for support, while absorbing in her head that she had a bad dream and her father was alive, well just about alive.

Her bulging blood shod eyes looked alien through the silver beveled mirror, her hair hanging wildly on her naked body,
she covered her face with her hands letting out a heart wrenching sob and then sank to the bottom of the floor, rocking back and forth as she cried with an intensity of love for her father, what if he dies? The thought was just too much to comprehend.

In Rams troubled sleep a piercing noise hit his ear drum he woke at the speed of lightening turning to an empty bed.
The crying could be heard echoing from the bathroom, the sounds painful to the heart
He ran to the bathroom opening the door with a thudding heart and witnessed a sight that shocked him speechless,
his wife was on the floor crying like he had never seen before, her vulnerable state left him feeling totally shaken,
Going to his wife with deep concern for her, he knelt on the floor and pulled her to him saying, Baby why are you doing this to yourself?

She wrapped her arms around his neck and clung to him trying to speak with deep hiccupping cries
I dreamt Papa had died and I wasn’t sure if it was real or not,
So I phoned the hospital and the nurse said his condition was still the same.
Oh Ram, what if my Papa dies, what will I do?

Shhhhhhhhhhhh, he said it’s going to be ok, we have the best doctors and no matter whatever it takes, I promise I will not give up we will get your father back healthy and fit.
Ram, I just can’t bear this, I know I am suppose to be the strong one in my family but right now I feel like their weakest link.

Baby, that’s not important right now, I’m just worried about you.
I want to take away this pain that you going through but I need you to have faith that your father is going to be ok.
You are the one that’s always so hopeful about everything in life, now why are you giving up and losing hope for your father.
Baby your father needs you right now, he needs your hope and I need you more than anything in the world to trust me on this.

Smoothing back her hair and away from her tear stained face, he said, come on let me take care of you

He lifted her in his arms and entered the enormous shower cubicle, placing her feet firmly onto the mosaic tiled floor while still holding onto her.
He opened the dial, adjusting the temperature of the water cascading down their bodies, the warmth of the double jet sprays touching their skin while a feeling of rejuvenation washed over them.

He took the luxurious body wash squirting the creamy silky liquid between the palms of his hands while lathering her body and massaging between her shoulder blades trying to work loose the knots of tension locked in.
She dropped her head on his shoulder as he continued his magic sliding his hands down her body coming to the sides of her breast were he palmed her some more and glided his hand to their full globes squeezing them gently,

Ouch she said that hurts.
Ram’s hand stilled on her breast, sorry babe I didn’t mean to hurt you.
No it’s ok she said, I’ve just been feeling sensitive the last few days and didn’t really take notice until now.
Ram looked at her worriedly, is this normal?
She covered his hands with hers and said it’s normal for woman to get sensitive breast.
Are you sure, he asked
Off course I’m sure
He removed his hand from her and gently dropped a light kiss to each of her breast, I’m sorry he said.

Their chain of thoughts were broken, bringing them back to the present hour as the specialist surgeon made his way to the concerned family members, everyone stood up in anticipation of what news was about to be disclosed.
So Doctor, how is he, Ram said anxiously?

Mr Kapoor he is still unconscious, his vital signs are being continuously monitored and we restoring his blood flow to the heart by the use of thrombolytic drugs, it is used for dissolving blood clots that form to stop the free flow of blood and these drugs also help in slowing the heart rate down.
Hopefully this will help prevent another heart attack

But right now his condition is still critical and because of his very high blood pressure we need him to be stable before we can perform and angioplasty procedure were we open blocked coronary arteries and insert a tiny metal mesh tube into the artery to keep it open.

Not wanting to hear anymore, Priya silently backed out the room while the doctor continued explaining the medical procedure and answering questions from her husband and the rest of the family.
She walked into her father’s room the silence hammered by the heart machine its green graph lines running across the black screen,
the clinical smell of the room hitting her nasal senses while the coldness in the room sent goose bumps along her fine skin
She sat down on the chair next to her father’s bed and held his hand for comfort

Papa, she said, do you remember when I was younger, we would go to the beach and while we were swimming you would hold me in the water and pull me up in the air and over your head while I pretended to be free as a dolphin, she smiled between the tears that threatened to flow at that cherished childhood memory

Sniffling her nose she said and papa you would say, my Priya you can be anything you want to be just as long as you always know that Papa loves you most and papa you know I would squeal with delight because in my childhood you were my only hero and till this day papa who’ve been my hero ever since.

The tears trickled down as she continued, you not just my father you are my best
friend in the whole wide world and it’s because of your strength and your guidance that I’ve become the person I am. Papa I’m so proud to be your daughter and one day when I have my own children I want them to know everything that you taught me
but papa I need you for that, I need you to be there for them like you were there for me because you are the most knowledgeable man I know and from you I’ve learnt all about life

Papa please wake up for all of us who need you back so much.
Please wake up papa she squeezed his hand tighter
Please tell me, Priya everything is going to be ok, hold me again Papa and tell me that you will never leave me.

Ram was trying desperately to locate his wife, and went in search of her.
he walked through the corridor his eyes scanning all the open areas and he thought to check his father-in laws room, could she be in there?
He pushed open the door and came to an abrupt horrifying stop, his wife lay unconsciousness on the floor at the foot of her fathers bed.

Priyaaaaaaaaaaaa he screamed and rushed in shouting for the nurse, by the time he knelt on the floor and lifted her head onto his lap the nurses were rushing in followed by the doctor, Mr Kapoor please we need you to move aside,
this is my wife for god sake he cried
what is wrong with her please doctor just do something,
Nurse please get Mr Kapoor out we need to get the patient to an emergency room quickly

There was a heightened sense of drama in the exclusive private hospital, on one side was Sudhir Sharma the father on the edge of death and on the other side was his daughter Priya Kapoor knocked out unconscious.
While the husband Ram Kapoor was pacing outside the corridor of the emergency room, he was beside himself with worry finding his wife unconscious on the floor sent his blood pressure sky rocketing, multitudes of sweat beads formed on his forehead dropping down the side of his face. Panicking that something bad was happening, god please not his wife, what could be wrong with her?

Vikram says to Ram please just sit down and stop this pacing it’s not going to help right now, Ram looked at Vikram blankly what could be wrong with Priya he asked?
He thought again and stopped Vikram how will I cope if something is wrong?
Ram just stop all this, I’m sure it’s just the shock and stress of her father she will be ok, she is fit and healthy nothing is going to go wrong

His friend Vikram Shergill was being the rock solid friend that he was. He was taking control and putting things into perspective.
While the rest of the family were trying to deal with this double blow that hit them in less than 24 hours.

Krishna Kapoor held onto her daughters Apeksha and Natasha, god what was happening in their lives?
How could anything go wrong with their Priya, please Bappa don’t let anything happen to our Priya or her father?
Be merciful on us, please, she cried silently.
